Grand Bank

I believe this is a very poorly managed and unethical organization!

In November of 2010 I refinanced my house, and ended up with Carnegie Mortgage (a subsidiary of Grand Bank) as the new lender.

In September of 2011, I received a bill from them for $2,900 for Temporary Homeowners Insurance, (The new policy was from their own insurance company and 5 times the cost of my policy, and they took that money right out of my escrow account) - as they said that my policy had been cancelled in January 2011.

After proving to them that my insurance company had sent them a bill, they still wouldn't reimburse the money. - My advice is stay away!

The previous review is right on point. I wish more people were writing these reviews. I am 100% we are not alone!

This is the WORST mortgage company I have ever worked with!!!!! STAY AWAY!

I have an escrow account with over $7000. I keep receiving letters of lack of insurance coverage from them. They keep sending me letters about my lack of coverage trying to force me to buy their overpriced (way overpriced!!) insurance coverage. My insurance company keeps sending them information about the insurance so they can pay my insurance bills. Last week I received lapse of insurance coverage for my hurricane and flood insurance. They failed to pay the bill after they were sent and faxed a bill by my insurance company (twice). I called them up just to find out they had no information about my flood coverage and they did not know they were supposed to pay my bill this time. Really? After having over $7000 in escrow?? I asked my insurance company to send them flood insurance determination and hurricane insurance bill again since they cannot get their mess straight. Today, just for the weekend (to have an extra pleasant one) I got yet another letter from Carnegie Mortgage that I don't have flood coverage (after speaking about them on the phone few days ago and they telling me that they don't see in their files that I need flood insurance). They, once again want to force me to get their flood insurance coverage for just $2700!!!. Oops, they must have found my flood determination all of the sudden?? Oh how come?!?!?!

As of today my insurance company sent them the bills 3 times in the last few months. They mailed to the address I verified with them twice and they faxed the bills 3 times!

Be aware of this company!! This is the worst SCAM I have ever seen! Do NOT refinance with this company unless you enjoy constant harassment and headaches. I have read reviews about them and I am not the only one that is going through hell with them. They force their insurance on you on purpose! The insurance will be 10 times more than the one you have! And they will take the money out of your escrow and you can't do anything about it. I have been on the phone with them for two months now. They say one thing and do the other. I have never seen something like that!

This is just a nightmare!
