General Info

The Orange County Probation Department is one of the largest criminal justice agencies in California that works with local police agencies, the county sheriff s department and the district attorney's office to reduce gang-related crime and supervises convicted narcotics dealers. The department also aids crime victims by collecting money from probationers in restitution. It supervises more than 23,000 adult and juvenile offenders on court-ordered probation. The Orange County Probation Department operates various juvenile institutions that provide drug treatment, vocational rehabilitation and job placement services. The department offers leadership development skills and guidance services to youths. The Orange County Probation Department administers the Volunteers in Probation (VIP) program, which includes screening and training-related services.
