Thornton Fire Department s mission is to ensure a high quality of life safety within the community by preventing the loss of life and property through fire prevention and safety education efforts. The department is responsible for mitigating emergencies and providing fire and safety education to its community. Thornton Fire Department is comprised of nearly five divisions that include operations, prevention, support services, ambulance services and administration. Services provided by these divisions include responding to and managing requests for emergency services, including fire, medical treatment and transport, hazardous materials and technical rescue. The department also performs building inspections and preplans, educates the public in fire prevention and community safety through community outreach events and performs emergency management planning. Thornton Fire Department is located in Thornton, Colo.
