Based in Texarkana, Texas, Opportunities provides developmental and support services for children with special needs. The center was founded in 1966 and assists individuals in attaining full abilities of a life of a community living. It acts as an advocate in creating a community that recognizes the value and abilities of all. It provides its programs for infants, adults and seniors of the community. It has a developmental day program that provides specialized services for infants and toddlers who have developmental delays and physical and mental disorders. The program also includes infant stimulation services and prepares toddlers for admissions in the public school system. The center also provides early identification screening assessment and evaluation, infant development, transportation, case management, nutritious meal services, and speech, language, occupational and physical therapies. Opportunities operates a senior day center providing meals, exercise programs, socialization activities and disability accessible transportation.
