Kali is a masters graduate of A.T Still University in Mesa, Arizona. She holds a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Physical Therapy from San Diego State University. Prior to her master's degree studies, Kali worked in radiology, organ and tissue transplant and physical therapy. Kali was awarded the 2011 Arizona State PA Student of the Year designation by the Arizona State Association of Physician Assistants, of which she is a member. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
