I.M. Air Conditioning

My wife and I have dealt with many home improvement, construction, air condition, and handymen companies. I am writing the review for iM conditioning because its the right thing to do. This company not only does a very good job but they believe in customer service. I was out of town and my wife did not know how to work the thermostat so she called them. They came the same day to show her after they already showed me. I put my recommendation for them.

Home Build Year: 1963

Description Of Work: Replaced a 30 year old furnace with a completely new two-stage HVAC system in a 1963 house. Remove damaged and decaying asbestos filled ducts with a completely new flex ducts. The new system will heat and cool a two story 1200 square foot house. Add two new breakers to the electrical panel to support the new furnace and condenser unit. Installed a ducting system the could easily be upgraded to an advanced zoning system if it is needed in the future. Design a new floor supply to cool off the computer server room. Install a return air flow duct.

They are FAST and AMAZING! I'm one of those people that have trouble sleeping because I always find it too warm. Before I had a proper central A/C I used a window unit that was too loud and would keep me awake. Last night was the first time I slept like a baby because the house was finally cool.



Igal came out to do an estimate on a Tuesday, and he proposed three different solutions to my situation based on the fact that I had a limited budget. He also told me that it would probably take at most two days to install the system. I ended up going with the more expensive option because I wanted something that was more of a long term solution because I plan on living in this house for a long time. As soon as I approved of the estimate on Wednesday, he ordered parts and scheduled an installation date on the following Monday.



Igal and the guys came early and got here at 7:15 AM. I was amazed by how prepared his guys were given the layout of my house, and how punctual they were. We had a few hiccups with the old electrical panel that I had, but the guy who dealt with the installing the thermostat solved it. By 4:00 PM I had a completely working HVAC system. The guys finished around 7:00 PM and I was really impressed with how thorough they were with cleaning up all the areas they worked on. I wished my other contractors were as clean and professional as Igal's guy's were.



The HVAC system itself: I ended up going with a new 3-ton Rheem split system installed horizontally under the house. For the first time my house was QUIET and COOL. I no longer had to turn up the volume on the stereo so that I could hear over a noisy window unit. The ENTIRE house dropped from 80 degrees Fahrenheit to 70 degrees in less than two hours. Igal wasn't kidding when he said the unit was high efficiency. I really appreciated how honest and how exactly on point he was with the estimate (unlike my other contractors). I guess when you've been doing this for 26 years, nothing will come as surprise to him. The best part is that I have yet to retrofit my single pane louvered windows with double-pane glass; I can only imagine how energy efficient the house will become once I do. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention his guys got the whole thing done in ONE day?

The people at im air conditioning are kind and friendly. They actually care about customer satisfaction. The technician was honest and diagnosed my system was just low on freon instead of trying to get me to spend more like other companies. I would definitely do business again with im air conditioning.
