Vision Systems, Inc ( VSI ) is an industry leader in pre-owned optical equipment. Located in Tarpon Springs, Florida, it has quickly become a name recognized both nationally and internationally. His vision: to bring unparalleled quality and service to the pre-owned market in the optical industry. His initial company was well received, in large part due to his 14 years of experience and a solid staff. It was when he began distributing some of the first patternless edgers in the country that the idea for VSI was conceived. The concept was to develop an independent company that would refurbish completely, sell professionally and support comprehensively state-of-the-art lens processing equipment. Mr. Wheaton, in March of 1998, brought forth an optical division to an already successful "pre-owned" ophthalmic equipment company. The division was so successful he soon became Vice President of sales and service for both divisions. Still, his focus remained on the optical division. By February 2001 he felt the time was right to launch his own company. He bought out the optical department and focused on his industry exclusively. Sal Troiano, Vice-President of VSI, has been in the Ophthalmic Equipment field since 1999. His many previous entrepreneurial pursuits helped to prepare him for his position as the leading Salesman, and then Sales Manager, for a company that led the industry in refurbished ophthalmic equipment. In 2001, Sal partnered with Jeff Wheaton as co-owner of Vision Systems, Inc His creation of the Ophthalmic Division elevated Vision Systems to a new level. Sal utilized his relationships with vendors and skilled technicians to continue the VSI tradition of assembling the most talented people to refurbish and market ophthalmic equipment. No longer limited to patternless edgers, VSI stands alone as the largest pre-owned equipment company in the optical industry and is positioned to move forward well into the 21st century. VSI opened its doors in March 2001. The employment of like-minded individuals at every level gave the company a firm foundation to build upon.
