My husband & I received Global...

My husband & I received Global Home USA Warranty when we closed on our home 6/28/12. We had a plumbing issue where the sewage was coming out of the shower drain in the Pool Bath (as well as some other very minor plumbing issues). I setup an appointment through our Home Warranty and they had Third Generation Plumbing call us. Setting the appointment/Showing up was fine.



The plumbing tech(?) told us the breakdown of all the costs coming out to around $345



What we asked to be fixed:

***Sewage Backup in Pool Bath Shower Drain

*Toilet Leaking in Pool Bath

*Water/Pipes in 2nd Bath makes thumping noise when it comes out

*Water Pressure very low in 2nd Bath Sink



- warranty company only covered the leaky toilet (wow-thanks)



We hardly ever use the 2nd Bath, but we needed the Sewage Backup fixed, so we agreed to the $75 deductible and the rest going to the company (We only spoke to the Plumbing Tech - warranty company never called us after the first setup appt.)



The Plumbing Tech was here for HOURS and HOURS...and moved sooooo slow - never stopped to update us. My husband even saw this guy walk over a hammer on the driveway a couple times and asked if that was his and he said Yes, he just hadn't picked it up yet (lazy). Anyways, this tech ends up leaving before the job was finished because he had a "toothache". Told us someone else was coming out right now to finish the job. 1 hr passed - no one here...I HAD To call and ask where the other guy was...said he would be there in 30 min. I had to leave to go to work, so my husband was here with our baby. (They started at 8am and left at 4:37pm!)



When I got home, my husband told me it was $240 and the only thing fixed was the leaky toilet and the water pressure in the 2nd Bath sink. I WAS FURIOUS! The main reason I called to schedule the appointment was for the Sewage Backup - I didn't care about the other stuff that much! Never once were we told the whole day that the Sewage Issue was not going to be fixed. The thumping noise in the 2nd Bath - they replaced a cartridge for $115 and it didn't fix the problem, but they charged us for it anyways. I called the company the next day and spoke to the Manager - who is SOOOOO RUDE. He told me his guys need to get paid for their time and 99% the shower cartridge fixes the thumping. He also stated they don't spend 15 minutes going over all the possible scenarios if the issue can't be fixed after that first cost discussion. (since I told him no one ever said it couldn't be fixed) The plumbing tech said there was Grout/Cement in the drain and a $317.50 camera inspection was needed. The Manager told me he would take $165 off the camera inspection because there was a communication problem on both sides (yea ok).



Fast Forward to the next day - my husband was outside and saw a pump with the switch to OFF, he turn it to ON and VOILA the sewage backup was fixed!



***There were sewage specks left all over the tile Floor and Shower! My husband spent hours scrubbing it clean
