Southside Middle School serves students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes programs in English, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally offers classes in art, band, history and physical education. Southside Middle School also offers the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program and gifted and talented education. It has an athletics department that offers a variety of sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, cheerleading, football, volleyball and wrestling. The school supports a student council and beta, Bible, builders and yearbook clubs. In addition, Southside Middle School s library provides various print and multimedia reading and reference resources, as well as access to the Internet. It is located in Tallassee, Ala., and is a part of Tallassee City Schools.
