Patients First

Today (8/6/08) I came to Patients First off of Appleyard Drive across from Tallahassee Community College. I entered the premises at 9 a.m. exactly and was greeted when I came in. I filed my insurance and the lady at the front counter was very nice. That’s about where the compliments stop. After filing, I waited patiently with three other individuals for over an hour before the nurse came, which I know is not out of the ordinary, but still relatively long. I was ushered to the back by the nurse at around 10:20 and was examined by the nurse. Where do I even begin with this nurse? She was by far the coldest nurse I have ever encountered and should have been fired on the spot. She was not wearing gloves while examining me and she was very rushing. She put me in a room around 10:30 and said the doctor shouldn’t be long so that’s when I started waiting…and waiting…and waiting… It was about 11:30 when the room started to get warm and I opened the door to get some A/C and listen to music instead of silence, when the nurse came in and said the door must remain closed and that the doctor should be in soon. I told the nurse that I was not feeling good and that the A/C felt good, but she wouldn’t let me keep the door open. I had a fever, was feeling nausea, and had an upset stomach, but she couldn’t cater to my needs. So I begin to wait more and more and it’s now 12:15 and I’m about to walk out after being there over 3 hours and the Nurse Practitioner comes in. She was very helpful and listened to my needs. We get to talking about why it took so long and she says it’s because she’s the only one there for the day and she had gone on lunch break. I got my prescription and walked out at 12:40 (3 hours and 40 minutes after I had arrived, and I never have waited that long even in an emergency room!). I started telling everyone in the lobby that I had waited 3 hours and there wasn’t ever a Doctor in the building. 3 patients walked out with me and I was very satisfied about that. I would never, in a hundred years, recommend doing business with these people and I advice you to do the same unless you don’t have anything to do and love to wait in Doctor’s offices. If I could I would give it 0 stars!
