Hometown Fireplace Outlet

This is my first experience with Hometown Fireplace Outlet. We looked at several Syracuse area stores for a gas log fireplace insert and chose HTFPO because their prices were the best, their showroom demonstration was professional and they did not try to up-sell us. The owner came out personally to measure our fireplace to make sure our chosen unit would fit. The installers came on the scheduled day and were friendly and professional and did a great job - although they struggled a bit because we have a 100-year-old house and they ran into some installation slow-down because of the way our chimney is built. But the job was completed. Unexpectedly, it turns out the insert would not fit exactly because of our unique fireplace design. So, we had to wait for an additional part to be ordered. Eric and Jennifer ensured us that "they would make it right" one way or another - and they did so within the promised time frame. We are completely satisfied and would easily recommend the Hometown Fireplace Outlet to anyone. Good family business - great service, great communication (emails etc...) and excellent prices. I scored the four out of five only because of the delay caused by the missing part - which might have been avoidable. But again, fully satisfied!

Absolutely the worst . Told 2 days for prepaid parts. Weeks later still no part. Refused refund and now will not take my calls. Steer clear.

Hometown installed my furnace, ac, and two gas log sets. They were professional, on time, and very easy to work with. My furnace and ac needed updating and the salesman that came out was very professional and courteous. I had other quotes and Hometown had a better price with a better warranty. I strongly recommend you call them if you need a new furnace or air condtioniing. A++++

I have left full reviews on Angie's list, BBB, and Google for more details. I have documentation and pictures verifying everything I claim. The chimney for our wood stove was installed incorrectly and unsafely two times. Hometown Fireplace Outlet offered no compensation, and stopped responding to our inquires for resolution. We hired a certified inspector who found many issues with the installation. The town code enforcement officer was unable to issue a certificate of compliance for the stove. The professionals explained that the stove should have never been installed where it is, and there was nothing that could be changed in the original location to operate it safely. We asked Hometown Fireplace Outlet to remove the stove and chimney, and return our $3749.60, as the wood stove was completely useless to us. Hometown Fireplace Outlet told us they were unwilling to remove the stove, refund our money, and after trying to deal with them directly, they stopped returning my phone calls or emails. They also did not respond to my BBB complaint. We had the stove moved to a different location in our home which cost $1600. The cost of the wood stove now totals over $5000, and it does not heat our whole home as we intended.

I had a Furnace,AirConditioning,and Fireplace installed great price great service no problems seems odd other reviews so bad but you know no one seems to take the time to write good reviews only bad ones

I had the worst experience here. Had AC installed, the 2 technicians were very nice all day, then as they were leaving, broke my garage door! They tried for about 10 minutes to fix it, took a hammer and ruined the tracks of the garage door even more, and after not being able to fix it ran out pretty fast. I asked for some sort of documentation and he said "no someone will call you." He was extremely unprofessional and ran out of my house without even looking at me. I then called the manager and she basically a said, " I don't know who to believe." Talk about customer service, you believe the CUSTOMER!! After a few phone calls with the manager even she became rude to me! And for some reason had to mention, "the owner is my husband." Do you think I care that you are married to the owner??? HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service, rude employees, and didn't care that they broke my garage door. I would never recommended them to anyone! Do not use this company unless you want your things broken and to deal with rude people who know nothing about good customer service!!
