Stonecrusher Transmission

I took my 1960 Thunderbird to Stone Crusher to get my transmission fixed last spring, he fixed one problem but was not able to fix others, I informed him that my torque converter may be the issue, he insisted it was something else. I was given a quote of $2,000 to repair everything and accepted it. After taking my transmission out several times and only after the owner hired an outside "consultant" I was told that my issue was fixed and paid the 2nd half of the $2,000. Problem is, it was not fixed, so I had to bring it back for the third time. Back in comes the consultant, now they admit that it was the torque converter after all. I'm told that it will cost me another $300 so I agreed, this makes the 4th attempt at fixing my problem since April, now its late August. After two weeks or so I'm told that the car is finally fixed 100%, I came and picked it up. Problem is, now I have no 3rd gear and its going into nutral when I select D1. I called Bob and told him about my continuing issues, he replied that my car had hurt his business by holding up one of his only two lifts, then went on to say that he was too busy to take my car back for at least two weeks. Ater all of this I decided to take my TBird to anther shop for a 2nd opinion, the bottom line has yet to be determined as the transmission needs to come out agan. But, initial diagnosis by the new shop has determined that the transmission has no ability to retain hydraulic pressure. I will update this review as my situation develops. As they say, let the buyer beware, get everything in writing and take notes and record everything that any service person tells you.
