Sunland Martial Arts

My son suffers from high-functioning Autism, and we were wary about putting him in any kind of extra-curricular activity because he has social difficulties. But he took to the classes at Sunland Martial Arts in the first day. He loves going, and he has gained so much confidence from the class. Master Kim is wonderful, he knows how to interact with each child individually, and get them to listen and focus. He is unlike any other martial arts instructor I have ever seen. He laughs, smiles, and has a good time with the kids. And he praises them when they do well. He is also good with discipline in the classes. He teaches the kids that if they are not focusing, their opponent will use that to their advantage. There are also several older kids, black belts, who help teach the classes. And these teenagers are unlike any I have ever known. They are so respectful and helpful. And they seem to enjoy their time with the kids. My son has actually made friends in his class, which is so hard for him to do. And he has connected with Master Kim on a level I never knew he was capable of.



Master Kim is not just another instructor either. He has seven black belts, an award from President Bush, and trophies, medals, and awards all over the walls. He has been featured in a Korean magazine as a bodyguard for a Korean politician. He has also been featured in art collection magazines for his paintings.



He teaches martial arts, painting, and Korean as a second language. He teaches from ages 4-adult, and anybody can learn in his classes.



I rarely rave about a business, but I have been so happy and impressed with Sunland Martial Arts that I believe it warrants the review.
