The Summer Institute for the Gifted began in 1984 with a single session in New Jersey and has expanded over the past 20-plus summers to include eleven residential sessions in seven states and five day programs. The institute serves nearly 2,000 academically gifted students in kindergarten through 11th grade annually. It provides academically advanced students with interesting and challenging educational experiences that combine academic courses with cultural, social and recreational opportunities. The Summer Institute for the Gifted features small classes, low teacher-student ratios and individualized programs. The institute attracts a broad range of geographical, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Its well-equipped college campus environments create an atmosphere for learning, growing and accomplishing goals. The Summer Institute for the Gifted maintains a presence in Stamford, Conn.
