        reservations warning

        This hotel over books and does not hold your reservations!!! When I arrived to check in I was told that they did not have the room I reserved. I gave them the confirmation number I was given when I made the reservation and they said that other people had reservations also and that their policy is first come first serve. It was not a late arrival - around 8:00pm and all the receptionist would say was "I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do" We went to another hotel within a few blocks and luckily they had a room available - comperable room at a comperable price and much better customer service. I did not know that Doubletree was a Hilton brand or I never would have made reservations at this hotel. I had a very similar experience with the Hilton in San Destin Florida - had reservations and found on arrival that they did not hold my reservation. I refuse to do business with a company that does not stand up to their word. There are too many other companies out there that know how to treat the paying customer.
