General Courier was the first courier service in Portland, Maine, originating in 1976 by the Abbott family, a local Maine family. Local advertising agencies needed deliveries to go to and from printers and advertising designers. General Courier provided for this need and courier history was made.We now have expanded our services to all of New England, and we offer a multitude of services. Medical, Manufacturing, Legal & numerous businesses utilize The General for their fast and affordable services.We pride ourselves in being able to customize our service to fit the customer needs. Our fleet of drivers, over 80 and counting, are employees of General Courier. We provide them with benefits and a great working environment.
