Located in Burlington, Vt., Northern New England Energy Corporation is an energy company. It is the parent company of Green Mountain Power, Vermont Gas Systems, Inc. and Portland Natural Gas Transmission System. Through its ownership of Vermont Gas Systems, the company has expanded natural gas service to more than 21,000 new customers and has displaced almost 65.6 million gallons. Northern New England Energy Corporation has investments of around $200 million in two independent operating companies. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gaz M tro, which transports and distributes natural gas in Quebec, Canada and the northeastern portion of North America.
