Accurate Concrete-South Amboy

I have had nothing but problems since day 1 with this business. I hired them to replace a 5' square stoop and 8' X 20' patio walkway (with stamped concrete) over a month and a half ago. Not a big job...right ???? Well, they screwed up the stoop by pulling the forms off too early while the concrete was still too wet. This caused the edges to become all choppy and ragged. So they tried to smooth it out and made round corners instead of square. It basically looked like a fluffy brownie. Aside from the physical structure problem...they also screwed up the color. I asked for a creamy beige color and they colored it a light burgandy. Beige and burgandy is not the same !!!! When I confronted them about it, they claimed that I was changing the color because burgandy was the color of the "release agent". Yes..."release agent"....something that they never discussed with us...or informed how it would affect the color. Luckily for me...they took it upon themselves to pick one out on their own. Why so dark and such a contrast.....who knows ?? So instead of having a patio that looks creamy beige - as I requested - I now had a taco bell / tex mex looking walkway. After getting into several heated discussions with them, they agreed to come back and replace everything. So they show up at my house and tear up the entire patio and stoop. They set the forms in place for the new stoop but didn't pour the concrete. I came home that night and found that the forms weren't even square to the house !!! It was crooked like a parallelogram !! So I called them up again...having to look like the bad customer who nit-picks on everything. But I figured why have them pour more concrete just to have it ripped up !!! Anyway, so now I have no walkway or patio to my front door and then they decide to tell me that I need to pick out a "release agent" so that it doesn't look burgandy again. So we pick another color which of course needed to ordered. So that took several more days along with rain delays. So here's a question for you.....why would you rip up the customer's only access to their front door if you're not prepared to replace it ???? Again....who knows ?? Well, I've pretty much been without a front walk for almost a month now.

OK, so the color comes in and they actually redo the entire job...including straightening the forms that were crooked. I will say, the 2nd time looks soooo much better. So why am I writing this ?? I am writing this because it should not take over a month to replace a 8' X 12' walkway and leaving a customer without access to their front door. They never showed up when they said they would...and never have a courtesy call explaining why. It was very frustrating to come home everyday with hopes of seeing this tiny job completed....but still having my front yard look like it was under construction. The icing on the cake was when I got a call yesterday saying that they would be out here today to clean up their mess and finish backfilling some dirt against the concrete. Figuring that this would be a simple project, we agreed that I would leave their payment in my mailbox to make life easier. Well, they showed up at 8AM to collect their check from my mailbox....but never came back to clean up or backfill. I'm sick and tired of expecting to see my house completed and - instead - having to see their construction debree all over my front yard. I can understand if they got tied up on something....but here's a suggestion....CALL ME !!! Say "Sorry, we're tied up on a job and won't be by until tomorrow". But instead, they make sure that they get out here to get their check !! I could be just as spiteful and put a "Stop-payment" on it...but I just want them OUT OF MY LIFE !!! I still don't know the outcome of the construction debree and backfilling yet. I guess we'll see ??? Hope this review helps someone !! I wish I had it when I was looking for a concrete contractor
