Motherlode Tutoring

It's truly difficult to even come up with the right words to reflect and express the gratitude that my husband and I feel toward Amy Williamson, the owner of Motherlode Tutoring Services. We first met Amy when she was teaching 6th grade at Soulsbyville Elementary and our son was in her class. It was apparent, the first time I met her, what a kind, fun-loving, yet professional teacher she was. When our son moved on to 7th grade, we watched him slipping month by month, he was overwhelmed and he felt hopeless. He was on a downward spiral and eventually had a 1.0gpa. There were power struggles almost every morning to get our son to go to school and power struggles every evening to get him to do his homework. Lots of frustration and lots of tears. This went on for months. We had several meetings with his principal, counselor and teachers to try to come up with a game plan, but nothing seemed to work. We were at our wits end; we just didn't know what to do. We decided to try some tutoring. I called Motherlode Tutoring Services, not knowing that Amy would be on the other end of the line! When I made the connection, that this was the same Amy that was our son's 6th grade teacher and she was now the owner of Motherlode Tutoring Services, I literally fought back tears. I knew at that moment that there was hope. I knew that Amy would help to pull us through a really rough patch and she absolutely has. After seeing Amy twice a week for several months and then about once per week over the summer, our son has started his 8th grade year off on the right foot. He was actually excited to start school. He sees Amy once per week now. He is doing incredibly well, maintaining a 3.2gpa. His self-esteem has increased greatly and he is enjoying school. He wants to get good grades. He has made the comment that he can see what a difference it makes to get good grades and do his best, in comparison to how he felt about himself last year. He has turned over a new leaf and everyone around him can see it; we see it, Amy sees it, the staff/teachers at Soulsbyville Elementary see it. Amy has not only been a tutor to our son, but a friend, a counselor, a and aside from my husband and I, our son's biggest fan! Amy genuinely cares about our son's success. She caters to our son's academic needs and she caters to his learning style. Our son loves to skateboard and there have been occasions where he's had a hard time grasping a certain concept, so Amy has put lessons into terms he can really identify with...skateboarding terms! And of course, he loves that! Amy makes learning fun. Our son says, "Amy is awesome, she gets to know you as a person and she cares about me. I like learning one-on-one." We highly recommend Amy with Motherlode Tutoring Services and we tell everyone about her. She is a 5-star person, teacher, tutor, , friend. Thank you Amy for all that you have done for our son...for our family. The service that you provide is priceless and we are beyond grateful.
