Established in 1964, the Somerville Mental Health Association is a mental health and substance abuse prevention service organization. The association provides clinical services for children and adolescents who have behavioral problems that interfere with their school performances, social relationships and self-esteem. It offers the Head Start program, which includes health care and wel-being services for low-income families with expectant women and infants. The association s adult health promotion program includes fitness activities, nutrition education, clinical assessment, stress-reduction training and counseling. It provides individual and group psychotherapies and psychoactive medications for children, adolescents, families and individual adults. The association also designs and implements employee assistance programs for businesses and municipal governments. Somerville Mental Health Association is located in Somerville, Mass.
