General Info

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. I earned my Ph.D. in clinical psychology (child specialization) from West Virginia University in 2007, where my training focused extensively on helping children overcome their fears of social situations and specific situations (e.g., separating from parents, falling asleep on their own at night). I also received comprehensive training in helping parents manage the behavior of their young children. Following my doctoral degree, I completed a two-year fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and became a licensed psychologist in Ohio in 2010. I treat children and adolescents presenting with a variety of mental health concerns, but have a specialization in and passion for treating child anxiety (including children who have been a victim of bullying). I also have a particular interest in working with children demonstrating attention difficulties and/or hyperactivity/impulsivity (including ADHD) and related concerns, and have worked with many families to help them alleviate the impact of these symptoms at home, at school, and in other environments. Since moving to Northeast Ohio, I also have held academic and medical staff positions at several academic medical centers and universities. I have many years of experience as a clinical child and pediatric psychologist providing outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and their families, and also have supervised several medical students and psychology graduate and undergraduate students in their clinical and research projects. I take a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with children and families (and other medical providers and school personnel, as appropriate) to help them achieve their treatment goals. Further, I use evidence-based treatments routinely throughout my practice, to help achieve each child's and family's treatment goals.
