Roosevelt Oaks Apartments

Do NOT rent at this apartment complex. The owners, Todd and Renee Moak, will find a way to keep your deposit. I left the unit immaculate, and always paid the rent on time. When you move they will NOT pro-rate your rent the month you vacate either. They demand a 30-day written notice of intent to move even when you verbally inform them months before. If they don't receive a "written" notice of intent to move, they use it as an excuse to retain your deposit. My 6 month lease expired 7 months before I vacated, and was on a month-to-month basis. They knew that I would move. Also, the units need repair and updating. Also, my unit had a serious rodent infestation, and the owner would not have an exterminator eradicate the problem. He placed rat poison in the bathroom, but it made no difference. The infestation was in the walls. Todd and Renee Moak owed me a $498 in pro-rated and deposit refund. They would not answer my calls for 2 weeks after I moved out. Finally, they returned my call to inform me that I would NOT receive a refund. I had to file a formal written complaint at the Attorney General's Office to open an investigation. Realizing that the owners would do this to me, I decided that they have done this to others. Hence, I want the AG to audit their books. Do NOT rent at Roosevelt Oaks Apartments. You will regret it...
