Sunset Motel

Very reasonable prices and probably the cleanest in Midwest. We're nice and clean showers. I will come here every hunting season.

In all the times we have stayed in motels and hotels while working on the road, never have we been talked to or treated the way we were with this establishment. We stayed a week and we did get a discounted rate for that, but we also elected to stay in their room with the complete kitchenette so I could actually cook home made meals for my husband and his crew. There was not a coffee pot in the room. There were utensils, but other than that not much. When we used the oven the room filled with smoke and so badly that we had to open the windows to breath. We had to clean the oven ourselves. In the seven nights we stayed, we were given clean towels only two times, and only two towels at that time. Which, I am a woman and I use two towels at every bath. There is no tub and only a stand up shower, which we were not told until we prepaid. On our 7th night here the owner came in our room and made one bed. Told us that we were the nastiest guest she had, I assume because she showed up twice in a week and the floors needed swept and a vaccum run over them. She informed us that it is not normal to have so many clothes. We live on the road, we have a lot of clothes. She had misplaced a towel and threatened us to pay for them, but we had not had clean towels. We had to use our bath towel to clean the kitchen and stove just to use it. Then she was unhappy and wanted us to replace her towel because we used it to clean an oven that was NASTY! She was rude and insultive to me when I pointed out that we had to pay to wash her towels just to have clean towels. We had to buy our own toliet paper... My husband wants to leave tonight and just get a different room, but we are prepaid and I am not packing before I have to. I would strongly suggest not staying here. There are better rates and service other places!!!
