Kitchen Remodeling
MBCI’s scope of work comprised installation of metal studs, drywall, acoustical ceilings, door frames, doors and hardware, casework and countertops, wood trim, and toilet accessories.
Flooring
By June 2019 the 9,100 square foot space, a former Rite Aid store, saw the installation of new walls, flooring, ceilings, casework, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.
Door Installation/Replacement
Drywalls
Niagara’s general contractor hired MBCI as a general trades contractor for the project. The scope of work included activity at various places within the building, yet the bulk of the work occurred within a two-story office area. Niagara referred to this space as the East Coast CEC – their Customer Experience Center. Activities here began with installation of framing, drywall, and ceilings. Other parts of the package included windows, walls and doors of glass, storefronts, bath accessories and floor finishes like tile, carpet, and polished concrete. MBCI’s work on the project is continuing with an expected completion in mid summer 2022.
Framing
The scope of interior work included erecting walls and partitions, installing ceiling grid and tile, ceiling framing, gypsum ceilings, insulation, casework, doors, frames, and hardware.
Tile Installation
The scope of work includes new ceilings, wall paint, carpeting, vinyl composition tile flooring, markerboards and tack boards, even furniture.

Garage Remodeling
When concrete is used for visible projects, such as garage floors, it requires finishing to give the concrete surface the desired smoothness, texture and durability.

New Construction
Yuengling’s Tampa brewery was the site of new construction activity in March as MBCI started building an on-site wastewater pretreatment plant at the Florida facility.
Demolition
The scope of work includes demolition of the existing interior and creation of new interior spaces comprising exam rooms, waiting area, rest rooms, break area, utility spaces and vestibule. Some upgrades to the building exterior are also part of the package.

Landscaping and Fencing

Landscaping
Work began in November 2017 on development of a hangar for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). The scope of work includes an 9,800 square foot addition to an existing building, sculpting of land contours and landscaping on the site.
Fencing
NorthPoint hired MBCI to fit out the new facility in accordance with Ryder’s build-to-suit requirements. The scope of work included creation of sixty-one additional new dock positions, installation of perimeter fencing, auto gates and security guard stations and other exterior site improvements. Interior work included carving out of 15,000 square feet of office space and four remote offices and rest room facilities. In addition, MBCI installed fifty-three charging stations for forklifts and lighting along with changes to electrical systems. All work was completed on schedule despite supply interruptions.

So, we installed an additional curb ramp with tactile pads to create a second accessible route for students to use to safely transition from the driveway to the sidewalk entrance and vice versa.
Asphalt Paving
Omnova, like many manufacturers in our region, contacts us frequently for facility maintenance projects like water line repair and concrete repair, along with capital projects including new roofing, new metal siding, and asphalt paving repairs.
Excavation
We immediately installed temporary supports for the roof and worked with our client’s engineers to design a column replacement plan. Together our teams created a procedure that included excavation of new piers and installation of 8x8x5/8-inch galvanized tube columns immediately adjacent to the soon-to-be-abandoned columns.
Snow Removal
PennDOT maintains nearly 40,000 miles of roads and 25,000 bridges statewide, which translates into nearly 95,000 snow-lane miles — enough to circle the globe nearly four times. To tackle this task, PennDOT uses more than 2,248 trucks, plows and salt spreaders, operated by more than 4,500 on-the-road workers. The department also rents about 380 trucks and hires temporary operators to assist with snow removal operations. During the 2018-19 winter season, PennDOT expects to use approximately 950 million tons of salt to keep Pennsylvania drivers moving.

Window Installation/Replacement
JELD-WEN, one of the largest door and window manufacturers in the world, operates 117 manufacturing facilities in nineteen countries. The firm designs, produces and distributes interior and exterior doors, wood, vinyl and aluminum windows and related products.
Gutters
Reconstruction of restrooms took place inside of the building in 2018. And in 2019 exterior improvements were completed. These included a brand new roof over the entire 6,600 square foot building, new soffit, new facia, as well as new rain gutters and downspouts.
Garage Door Repair/Replacement
Installation is also continuing on restroom floor and wall tile, toilet fixtures, toilet accessories, ceiling grid, floor polishing, doors and hardware, and overhead garage doors.
Siding
The Amcor Rigid Plastics USA plant in Allentown, Pa. required a new electric substation to sustain production capacity growth. MBCI was tasked with constructing concrete foundations and piers to support a design-build steel pipe bridge to carry electrical conduit over a railroad siding serving the facility.
Residential Roof Repair
A new roof was installed using roofing material made by Carlisle, the U.S. market leader in single ply roofing systems. It is guaranteed by the manufacturer against failure for 30 years.
Residential Roof Replacement/Installation
Job progress as of mid-July 2018 included bar joists set, Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roofing installed, and final placement of ponds, trees and grass.

Painting
Since our last report in July 2018, construction progress on the Butler Township building located within the Can Do Corporate Center in Drums, Pa. has moved forward. Presently completed items include a standing seam roof, metal siding and brick veneer. Interior painting is 60 percent complete. Grid installation has begun and is about 20 percent complete.
Carpentry
This collaborative venture involves the efforts of students from more than half of the school's available programs of study: Auto Collision, Auto Mechanics, Culinary, Residential, Industrial Electricity, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Welding, Computer Information Systems, Carpentry, and Plumbing.
Insulation
On the exterior walls, Miller Bros. created an envelope of insulation consisting of 2-inch rigid insulation combined with 2.5 inches of closed-cell spray foam resulting in a wall with a total R-value of 24.
Masonry
Scope of work included all sitework, concrete, masonry, erecting a pre-engineered metal building, interior finishes, plumbing and mechanical.
