There are a number of muscle release techniques that can be employed in order to restructure the position of the muscles. Then the pull of these soft tissues on the bones is diminished, and the chiropractic adjustments last much longer without old patterns returning. In combination with home exercise tips for those interested, a speedy return to a more neutral structure is ensured.

Manipulation Therapy
The tissues of the body can heal too tightly or too loosely when damaged. It is actually better in most cases, to heal too tightly rather than too loosely. Scarring often involves healing too tightly. Scarring can be diffuse as in when a muscle-belly has been strained, and therefore heals by slow infiltration of diffuse tiny fibers. Or scarring can be quite well-localized and specific as in a surgical scar. This discrete scar type can tether on delicate inner structures, either creating pain or inhibiting natural function of organs, nerves, or muscles. In these cases, there are a number of approaches to take to correct the situation: soft tissue manipulation of muscle or even organ structures (called visceral manipulation), active stretching of the involved site, and ingestion of proteolytic enzymes in order to break down the scar tissue.

How can you eliminate and reduce the whole chain of compensatory reactions as well as the seed? Regular stretching will always be useful. Receiving body work by one of the many systems that recognize the interconnectedness of the parts is often necessary to accurately identify and reduce tension from the problem areas.
