R1 Moving helped us move in February from an apartment with a lot of stairs to another apartment with even more stairs. They were great. Nothing was damaged. The movers were all very friendly and really hard workers. Highly recommended. No complaints from this mover. They were on-time, professional (brought extra padding, wardrobe boxes, and knew how to handle our furniture and wares) fast, efficient, and trustworthy. Almost forgot to mention - I joined Yelp just so I could spread the word. R1 Moving did a great job! We moved from SF to Palo Alto- guys arrived at 8:30 am, packed us, moved us- and were done by 3:30 pm. Very aware of our stuff and asked what went in which room, etc? Worth every penny.

AVL did a top job moving our office. They booked the gig on one day's notice, showed up in the morning, packed up the works, and moved it into the new place in six hours, without breaking, scratching, or denting anything. AVL guys are great! Kevin was super warm and easy to deal with from the very first phone call. I give them my highest recommendation! They were also great fun to be around. Hire These Guys! These guys were fantastic. They were willing to move a single piece of furniture (a heavy CRT TV), cheaply and in the evening on a weekday. It took them almost no time at all, and they handled it easily and professionally.

R1 Moving is the best moving company EVER!!! I've shared three moves with these guys and have given their number to all of my friends . . . They are great - warm, friendly, hilarious, and professional . . . I will easily use them for any move, and their storage prices are really reasonable. I just recently used R1 Moving twice in one month for a very difficult move into a building in Russian Hill. These guys are great, hard working, and have a sense of urgency to make the move go well ... not to mention a great sense of humor. Kevin is the best! You won't be sorry if you choose them.

R1 Moving gave my Dad the best move I have ever seen. We were dreading the usual breakage, scratches and mess, but Calvin McGuire and his crew, Louis and Jesse did an outstanding job. So did the packers. All the furniture was padded and wrapped, and there was not a scratch that we could see. I've always said that I'd never move again, that they'd have to carry me out feet first, but I'd move with Atlanta Peach in a heartbeat.

This was purely a last minute decision. After my initial contact, my finance and I had a temporary lapse in sanity and thought, well if we can’t find movers to move us in the morning, we'll do it ourselves. After some phone tag between myself and R1 Moving, Angie (scheduler/life saver) called on Saturday to apologize that we kept missing each other. I asked her literally at about 12:30 if they had any spare hands, she checked with the available teams, and indeed they did.



I got a call from my new best friends, Austin and Daniel in about 5 minutes. They were finishing up one job, wanted to have a brief lunch, and would be at my new place in 2 hours. They kept in touch and were there as they said they would be.



Ladies and gentleman this was truly something to watch. I sat in the living room, directing boxes, furniture, food, booze, books, clothes, etc. And, I was sitting not just b/c I was exhausted, but b/c I needed to have some space to marvel at how hard these guys worked. They run, they move with lightning speed, and they're nice/funny while doing it. (I don't even need to mention that they had cool hair).



I am sure that there are other dependable movers in the city, BUT if you're looking to support a very smart, upstart company with dedicated and hard working employees, please do go with R1 Moving. I HIGHLY recommend them.

We used R1 for our move this past weekend. Great guys: Seamus, Dave &? (Shoot I forget). They handled our things respectfully and carefully. I highly recommend them! Wow! On time, polite, worked super fast and careful too! And the Irish accents..........if you ever needed a good reason to move, R1 Moving is it! Paying for movers was one of the smartest things I've ever done and these guys were quick, friendly and professional. Would hire them again in a heartbeat! Dear sir with the dreadlocks and impenetrable Irish accent: hot this weekend, isn't it! Are you sure you wouldn't be more comfortable moving my belongings with your shirt off? Just wanted to thank R1 Moving for a perfect move today . . . I won't hire any other company in the future. R1 Moving delivered again. Called 'me on Wednesday, they had our office moved on Saturday, on time, on budget and with no hassle whatsoever. Thanks R1 Moving!

Cheerful fellows, skilled and on time. Friendly and professional, careful with stuff and walls. They hit the low end of their estimate. I'd recommend them to others, especially if you like people singing old pirate songs one minute and "The Age of Aquarius" the next we used AVL last Friday to do a move from the Peninsula to SF and it was as good as it could have been. They were extremely professional and I would highly recommend them. Used these guys again a month ago and had the same great experience. They're really efficient, friendly and I still haven't had better movers. The way they touched my stuff made me swoon. It's a week later, and I am still in awe of the AVL Super Powers. Bestest ever. Very professional, friendly, helpful, hard working. They lent us boxes too, which is such a great service, but I've never heard of anyone else doing it. Duh.

Just a first-rate experience all the way. Call them first.

Check their multiple listings on Yellow Pages under different names by address-which is the same as Win Moving Van Lines. They have 10 different moving company names owned by one man. They have a class action lawsuit and many judgements/complaints against them, over 400. Check BBB, search their name in any search engine. I didn't, and now I am paying for it! They took all of my belongings from CA, supposed to meet me in AZ the next day per the man at my house with the 3 workers and everyone I ever spoke to at the company-they never showed up! When I called to get their ETA, they said they were unloading my stuff into a storage warehouse and wont tell me where!! They said I did not read the fine print, they had 7 days to deliver. It has now been 8 days and the driver is now "sick" so they don't know when they will deliver my stuff. Run away!! Search their name, the owner was on the news ( you can watch it yourself) for scamming and decieving numerouse people!

We got burned on our move a year earlier with another company so I did lots of research and took multiple bids. Their pricing was in line with the most competitive, but my real concern was integrity (no unexpected charges or surprises). They delivered on this count.avl moving and storage was great to work with...the most conservative of the group estimating at the high end (turned out to be accurate) rather than trying to win business by telling me only what I wanted to hear. This prevented mix ups later. They were on time, on budget, and a pleasure to work with...no disconnect between avl mooving and storage sales call and the movers who did the work. move coordinator also took care of little details that we didn't have time for, something the next best candidate was unwilling to do. Moves are stressful, and often go wrong. This one was a pleasure and has set a great tone for the next phase in our lives.

AVL Moving systems came up as I was searching for reputable movers.AVL MOVING SYSTEMS moved me from Winchester to LA,ca as returning on campus college student and did an excellent job. I didn't really have a lot of heavy things but I had a few big things like my bed and dresser that I definitely couldn't bring myself. I decided to go with the company that contacted me first! The guy over at Avl moving systems gave me a really good price and gave me a military discount so I was inclined to choose their services. I would rate this company highly due to the fact that my move went almost perfectly. The only hitch was that they were a day late for pick-up due to the weather and the truck that picked me up "freezed" up the night before. I can understand that because the weather was 30 below the previous night and they made amends by crediting me $100.00 Other than that the move was great and thuy and his helper were awesome other than the language barrier they were very polite and extremely hard working. I would use this AVLmoving company again.

I heard about AVL moving systems from a co-worker who had moved from CA to TX. She recommended them because she had a lot of antiques and they didn't scratch or break a thing. I had some antiques as well, and thought that it would be worth it to give Avl moving systems a try. The price was comparable to other movers. The appraiser who came was very professional and caring--they even offered to help me get rid of things that I decided I didn't want to take with me. The men who came to move me out finished the job in less than one hour, and were within the days they estimated for delivery. One man did all the inventory, and the other did all the lifting. The only thing I didn't like was that there was only one man doing the labor, I didn't like seeing my 150 year old kitchen table hoisted over his back. It scared me that he would drop it. But in the end nothing was broken or scratched. I packed my own things, so I can't give an opinion on the packing service. Also, I do think that the company probably varies in quality from city to city. My good experience was with the california to texas

We really have no better words.The AVL guys and the movers did an excellent job. Very friendly, courteous and prompt. They returned my calls including weekend without any delay or hesitation and addressed my general concerns in the move. They understood my necessity and urgency. They were at our door in 3 hours after my decision to go with them. The cost was what said over the phone and not a penny more. The cost was probably the low end compared with others but at the same time, got 'VIP' treatment in accommodating our requirements. The contact person of AVL Moving company needs to be commended for dedication and commitment to their responsibilities.so, i highly recommend AVL moving company

AVL MOVING SYSTEMS were very professional and courteous from the start to the finish. Sales person was also a pleasure to work with, we had to reschedule twice, but he took it all in stride and ended up accommodating us with a last minute request to move. We were skeptical in the beginning because, the person who picked up the phone was awesome, very sweet to talk to and very professional. It got us wondering whether they hired a professional person to attend the phone at front desk but had bad movers. We even asked her if the movers knew English, smiled and said, yes, they do. Movers came on time and were very very friendly and helpful. They did an awesome job moving most of the stuff in 3 hours which is our minimum. Another thought I had in mind is they can delay as much as they want so they can paid more but movers had no intentions of that, they did the job quickly and neatly and worked hard to fit our Couch which was resisting going upstairs

I recently moved with the AVL moving experts from California. I moved twice before with professional moving companies that ended up ripping me off. I was very worried to use a company for this move and almost rented my own truck to move by myself. Eventually, after a long search for the best company I found AVL moving company. Their prices were not the cheapest but after my previous experience I decided to spend a little more and hoped to get a better service. Today, all I can say is that I made a great choice. I ended up paying less than I paid for my previous moves and got an excellent service. The salesperson was very informative and knowledgeable and very patient even after I called almost everyday with questions. I would recommend this company to all of my friends and will use them again for my next move.
