Overall

Back in November, 2014, I had a spark plug blow out of my ford f250 v10 6.8L. I took it to Muscle car alley which by the way has moved to Barham dr in San Marcos. To make a very long story short. I had them rebuild my engine. Bad Mistake. I had to return the truck roughly 8 times before they got it right. so from November to April of 2015 is how long it took for them to properly finish. I actually had to take my truck to Ford service to have them tell me that the timing chain was off by a tooth, before muscle car got the engine light to go away. they had to completely open back up the job they did to redo the chain. Also, not to mention, the countless leaks I had them repair and countless misleading comments about its your problem now etc and that its probably a bad sensor. I ended up spending roughly 700 extra on all those sensors they claimed was my problem and in the end Ford showed them who the real boss is. John, the owner even admitted to me that he doesn't even really know Ford trucks that well. My mouth dropped after all that, to hear a comment like that. John told me he is not the owner anymore and that mike has taken over just to get me off his back. Well, I called the Bureau of auto repair and they infact told me that John is still the owner! LIARS!!!!!!

So a year goes by and I had a leak pop up from my manifold. seems like an easy fix for a muscle car shop. Think again, John could not figure out what was wrong and so I had to take it to ford again. ford said their was some loose spark plugs and found 2 time certs installed on the heads muscle car replaced...uhhhhh so that means the heads they gave me were crappy heads and have band aids of time certs for the spark plugs in 2 holes on the engine. In the end, with all my patience and trust in these guys. I still was let down again. I just left the shop today and he didn't give me a receipt and would not issue a warranty for his work and I drove down the street and still have a leak. Thank God I refused to pay him for not issuing a warranty, cause I would have lost that money for nothing. Don't use these Guys, They will Lie, and sometimes do absolutely nothing and tell you your good to go. They sub out their work to unknown shops as well, I had to confront that other guy personally as well, many scratches, and missing rubber door bumpers, they forget to put my hood light back everytime I brought it in, and that's just the little stuff... they also have no consumer signs posted for the customers to read which is 100 percent illegal in California. these guys do not have it together. Most of the team that I have seen working there look like Tweaker drug addicts in my opinion. Their are many other shops in SoCal That will blow these guys away. Ifyou want it done right the first time don't trust Muscle car alley!!!!!!!

Stay far away, far, far , far away....John does not follow up on his promises and misleads you from the very start. Received the run around every step of the way, took my business to another shop and received my deposit back lucklily from JMCA.

Unreliable - stay away

I took my car here to finish some of the more stretched out dents that I was not capable of hammering back into place. Now that that is all done its back to my garage to block out the whole thing.

I decided that a lowering kit and disc brakes on the bel air was more than I wanted to do myself. They did a great job and the car has a really great stance too. I can drive with a lot more confidence with those discs on the front as well.

My Chevelle would not start after it was parked for 5 minutes. I was told there was a problem with the starter and heat. They installed a heat shield and some header wrap and now the car starts no matter what. I am glad they fixed this problem because it was very bothersome.

John has done the work I cant do myself. I pass along the difficult parts of the restoration and he takes care of them. He always does an excellent job and at a fair price.

I brought my 1962 Pontiac Bonneville to John for paint and chrome work. He quoted a price, sent me pictures( via e-mail) of the progress and finished the restoration in a reasonable amount of time. The work was very good and the price was as quoted. I am very satisfied with John and his quality of work.

If you want to get the best service for your muscle car or any car go see johnny, he will treat you with respect, give you options, tell you what he can and can't do, or what you should or shouldn't do to a classic car. He Muscled up my 89 Bronco, on time, on budget with the best service anyone could ask for. Now I won't let my kids take their cars any where else for anything. This guy is honest, and does great work at a fair price.

I love this place. They took our old rusty car and made it run again. I thought it was impossible but it was so cool to be driving around in the Mustang again after years and years of sitting around and rusting. Muscle Car Alley did a fantastic job. Johnny Rays has worked on our other cars for a variety of issues and each time they come back purring like a kitten and so much better. I was also impressed that they came and picked up then dropped off the car so I didn't have to worry about getting the cars there or back. The service and prices will make this a favorite of yours too.
