Los Gatos locals Lars and John Thomsen built this shop and still own and run it today. Back in 1997 my Dad John and I opened Trail Head Cyclery on our own, puting an emphisis on mountain bikes, but supporting all kinds of riders with service and parts. A full community supporting shop, Trail Head is a sponsor of dozens of schools, Boy Scout Troops, ROMP, MBOSC, ACTC and Trailworkers.com to name a few. Trail Head Cyclery is a place where folks can find friendly cyclists with a passion for helping out. We have a full service center capable of performing any repairs a good bike could need, and we back those repairs up with a 90 day guarantee. Our sales floor is well stocked with a broad selection of bicycles of course. However, it is rare to find such an abundance of high-end mountain bikes and sport specific gear, such as full face helmets, armor, goggles and the largest selection of off-road tires anywhere. Another unique service we provide is a huge inventory of hard to find mountain bike parts, such as disc brake pads for just about any model and all the bits that make them work. Our selection of handlebars and seatposts is amazing, but we find great joy in having that certain small part in stock that is the only missing piece to getting you back on the trail. Since moving into our new larger space in the Cambrian Park Plaza, we expanded our cruiser and city bike selection to match the new flood of locals that see us on the corner. Comfy upright cruisers in all kinds of styles are ready to test ride in our huge backyard where it is safe from the busy streets or parking lots. Parents are especially comforted that our young test riders are not at risk, unless you count trying to jump a curb! The list of services we provide is simply too long for this page, but include new bikes from Electra, Specialized, Ibis, Yeti and Intense. There is a broad selection of cycle gear including helmets, gloves, jerseys, jackets, shorts, warmers, eyeware, goggles, armor, shoes and gear bags to tote it all in. Trail Head offers a host of amenities, including our extensive selection of Demo/Rental bikes. Our customers can rent the high-end bike they are interrested in on the trails of thier choice, then apply any rental fees to the purchase of any frame or bicycle! We also have many Dirt Demo events throughout the year where folks can try riding different models back to back on our local trails. Other amenities include free indoor bicycle parking for folks attending the Wednesday Farmer's Markets or any time they visit. We also offer shipping services and even a rental Trico Hard Case for travel. Twice a year we host a Huge Bicycle Swap Meet that is open to all. This is really a great community event, bringing us lovers of two wheels together in a mellow environment full of bikes and bike parts. You can find some great prices on all kinds of bike stuff! Have a bicycle that needs work, but you're just not sure how much it will cost? We offer free estimates! Just bring in your trusty steed and we will put it in one of our repair stands where you can watch and interract with a friendly service writer. Tell them what your budget is and they will use their experience to suggest what needs to be repaired and what would be nice if the budget allows. Parking at Trail Head couldn't be easier with loads of spaces right in front of the shop. And test riding is the safest anywhere in our back area with no traffic. We are easy to find and the Espresso Cafe next door is awesome!
