I purchased an aluminum ramp system for $1,648.99 from one of Mercantila's associated websites on December 20, 2009. On December 22, 2009, I was told via email it would ship on December 24th. On December 28th, they informed me via email the product was no longer available, my order was canceled, and my credit card would be refunded in 10 business days. I patiently waited the 10 business days (January 12th), and contacted them the following day regarding my refund. They said they would put in a new request to the refunds department. I asked to speak to the refunds department directly, but they refused to transfer me. I called them one final time to ask for a refund, and received the same run-around response. It is now January 21st, and I am VERY upset that nearly $1,700.00 of my money has been tied up on my credit card for over a month. They charged me on day one, never had the product, and decided to keep my money. I am in the process of disputing the charge on my credit card with Chase and fighting them through the Better Business Bureau.
How could this business have made my experience better? Don't charge me for a product you don't have in stock and no longer carry. If you are going to charge me, at least refund my money asap, especially within the 10 day time period you promised.
I would not recommend this company!

This company shipped me a Palates Reformer. The machine was defective and I needed a new part to make it work. Spent hours on customer service line with no answer. The problem resolution function on their website does not work. Sales people are the only ones that answer the phone at their number. You can not email them. Would like to keep my machine, but cant get part. About to file a complaint everywhere that I possibly can and have my credit card company investigate.

Paid $416.38 for Meyda Lamp # 27159 on July7, 2009. After changing shipping dates often, company sent email on 10.5.09 requesting direction since item had no shipping date/out of stock. Filed on-line request for refund on 10.05.09. Called company 10.8.09 and told refund "should" be returned to bank on 10.8.09. Called (800.718.1710) on 10.12.09 and was told all the agent could do was initiate another "ticket." Called San Francisco number (415.268.4700) and was told supervisor "may" return call after "meeting with corporate." No call was received by 8PM CST when supervisor was purportedly off work. Still no refund for item never delivered since 7.7.09.

Mercantila is a fraudulent company. Check them out with the BBB of San Francisco and the AG's office. Do not do business with them.
