Willmark Communities

This is a horrible company to do business with. Avoid at all costs.

After living in one of their communities for two years my family and I needed a bigger place. So 28 days before the end of my lease I gave a thirty day notice. I cleaned the apartment, had the walls painted and the carpet cleaned and turned in my keys. It took me 2 months of calling with no returned phone calls and nothing in the mail to finally get ahold of someone. Then she told me that I owed them money on top of my deposit that they were keeping because a staff member had written down that she recieved my 30 day notice on the 6th of the month and not when I actually did on the 3rd, therefore owing 5 days of rent. I had even turned in the keys one day prior to my lease expiration date. The women from Willmark told me to prove I turned my notice in on the third otherwise I was not getting a penny back and then hung up on me! This company is soo crooked, even an ex employee of their's feels the same way. Save yourself the headache, if possible don't rent from them.

Willmark Communities manages an apartment complex in San Marcos, Ca called Prominence Apartments. This complex is well known in all of San Diego for its drug and gang problems. I was supposed to move there few months back with my 10-year-old son. Management informed me that the complex was very safe and has never had such problems. So, I was tricked into signing a one year lease with this complex. After finding all the facts about Willmak, and reading the horrible reviews about this company, I tried to cancel the lease. This is when I discovered how brutal and insensitive Willmark is. I experienced one of the worst ordeals of my life dealing with them. They refused to take my phone calls or even return my messages when they found out that I was trying to cancel my lease. They refused to terminate my lease even though it had only been 3 days since I signed it and I had not even moved into the apartment yet. I was finally able to find somebody who took over my contract. This company lies to its customers and potential customers in order to trick them into signing long term contracts. However, once the contract is signed, they treated you as a sub-human.

Do not deal with Willmark in any deal or shape, and please try to avoid moving into any residential complexes that is managed by Willmark.
