Overall

I have never felt so ...unappreciated as a walk in customer in all my years of coming there (20 years). I am done , my loyalty to them makes me feel like a fool. I knew Mr. Walker when he owned it and he was great, never a problem. these folks claim to be related to him but there is no way that either of them sprang from his loins. That lady that works the front is, I just dropped by on the way back home from shopping to ask a simple question and bang! the vibe, the body language, the tone of voice. Good bye and good riddance . Find someone else to berate.

Have been to Walker's for a fe...

Have been to Walker's for a few years, they do an excellent job for reasonable price.

My duffel bag has visited them more than once, but not because of "sloppy" work, but of "sloppy" handling by the airport workers.

I like this store and recommend it to anybody with luggage problems. they do better work than most of the airline stores!

Overall
Fixed two of my luggages perfectly, thank you!‎

I travel a lot, and over time I ended up with one luggage with a broken handle and another with a wheel that came off. These have both been around the world on about 20 trips, so it's a testament to their construction. That said, replacing the two would cost about $250 for similar quality. I've found that the luggage you might buy in Target/Walmart are cheaper but won't last even 3 or 4 international trips and have other flaws.

I noticed near my house was a luggage repair, but while searching the yellowpages I found this place. The store is called "A Walker's Luggage" and if you drive by look for their signs. I dropped off my luggage and was told about a week, and picked them up the next week. This was in time for my trip to Japan, and the repairs were perfect. After going there and back, it definitely worked.

For the handle repair, he gave me the option of a hard or soft leather handle. I chose the latter, and it works great and feels great while carrying my case. The repair costs were very reasonable, in this case about $35 for both luggages. I expected to pay more because the damage was pretty fatal to each one. The repair consisted of multiple metal rivets, so it's ironically stronger than when I bought it.

Note that they specialize in shoe and luggage repair, and as far as luggage goes they say they can fix anything they can "put a needle through". This applied to my luggage, but keep that in mind.

Highly recommended. Very skilled repairs, and a great rate. We need more of these places in SD.
