The worst service in San Antonio

We took our vehical there to get the undercarriage fixed after my wife ran over a car stop in a parking lot. The airconditioning worked when the car was given to them for repair. We just had the brakes repaired at another shop prior to taking the car there. These people found items wrong with the vehical that wasnt wrong. They said the brakes were bad and the air conditioner was out of freon and needed a new hose. After arguing about the Air conditioner, I told them to put the vehical back together and I went to pick it up. They had the undercarraige repaired so we paid them for that.

We took the vehical to another service to get the Air Conditioner hose fixed. The other service provider couldnt find nothing wrong with the hose...they filled the air conditioner up with freon and its working fine...no problems found with the air or brakes.

My advice: Take you vehical to a dealer or one recommended by your insurance agency. Never take it to this place.

In response to the review given by Cwilliams1, all vehicles that are brought us here at Village Parkway Automotive for any type of service is also given an overall check for the safety of the customer and the drive-ability of the vehicle. Upon inspection of this vehicle it tested low on freon. Freon dose not evaporate, if a vehicle is low on freon it has leaked out. This is why the other shop he took it to had to replace the lost freon just as we offered to do for him. But WE also found the leak and gave the customer the option to have it replaced. He declined. Further inspection of this vehicle found worn brakes. When we see brakes that are worn on any vehicle we always inform and show the customer the condition of the brakes. Again they have the option of having them replaced or not. There are a few reasons why a customer will have had a recent brake service done and need another not too long after. They may have opted not to have rotors replaced only turned. Rotors can only be turned a few times bf needing replaced. Also the brakes used may be of poor quality or bad. Never the less, the work the client originally came in for was done and to date the customer has not brought it back with any complaint. I feel this customer was given good information regarding his vehicle and apologize if he feels it was not to his standards. It is not our intention to have unhappy customers although it is almost impossible to make everyone happy all the time and we understand this... I can assure you, if you bring your vehicle to us here at Village Parkway Automotive, we will thoroughly check your vehicle for services needed, we will show you exactly what we find and of course you always have the option of having the repairs done or not. We believe by having the services kept up on your vehicle will keep you from having bigger repair expenses in the future. I'm sure you'll agree a transmission service is much cheaper then having to replace your transmission. This is why we do a thorough inspection with mechanics that are certified and have years of experience. It would be a disservice to you for us not to inform you of the condition of your vehicle. Also, we are not in the business of selling services that are not needed. Thank you for your time and "Happy Motoring"

I won't be back.
I made an appointment a week in advance for a radiator flush. No issues, it just hadn't been done in six years. They installed a leak sealer for $35 even though I didn't have any leaks. I dropped it off at 7:30 and they didn't start until after 9 and then suggested replacing the thermostat. Not a bad idea since the car is a 1996 but that took up another hour and that should have been suggested when I brought it in.

Four hours to get something done that could have been done at a quicklube in 20 minutes. My time is more valuable than that.

This place is a complete rip off!! These people are money hungry. Don't use this place unless you want to be ripped off!!!

First of all, they charged me $95 for a diagnostic test. I have never heard of anyone charging that much. When I told other mechanics even they were shocked! Then they said it was going to cost $500 for a simple alignment. They claimed that I needed to replace all four of my catalytic converters and replace my exhaust pipe and that would be $1400.

So I took my car to another shop for a second opinion and they showed me that my catalytic converters were fine and didn't need to be replaced. Then all they did was weld my exhaust pipe and my car is as good as new. This only cost me $40. They even did another diagnostic test for free and everything was fine.

A co-worker recommend this place to me. As a woman, I felt very vulnerable taking my car somewhere, especially when my husband was deployed to Iraq. Initially, Louis seemed very nice, helpful, and eager to help me. My ABS light kept coming on, so a diagnostic test was run indicatiing I need a left hub assembly. I also had a coolant flush done and some other routine work totaling $1500. When I left the parking lot, I immediately noticed that my breaks felt exactly the same way they had before. Then, I could not excelerate. I took my vehicle back, where Louis explained to me that the mechanic had knocked a spark plug loose. The next week, my ABS light came back on, and over the couse of six months I was in and out of his shop with Louis telling me each time, "I think we finally know what the problem is." He would never apologize and even began to be rude to me when I would bring my car back in. Shelly was rude as well and I felt like he would send her out to deal with me becuase he didnt want to. As if I wanted to keep missing work and bringing my car in. I also found that coolant was never put back into my car after the flush. The problem with my ABS light was never resolved, Sadly, I eventually just got rid of the car & I am still very upset about the whole situation. I feel completely taken advantage! Way to take care of two Army veterans Louis!

I took my 02 Mustang to VPA on the advice of friends at Hyatt that had used their services in the past.Louie and his wife could not have been more accomodating. I had diagnostics done and had my computer replaced as well as an ignition coil. They dropped me off at my house so I wouldn't have to wait for the repairs at the shop and even called me and picked me up when they were done that same day.I really feel they went above and beyond to help me at a time when money was tight and I needed my car back on the road asap.

Put it this way,I would consider no other place to get any qualified work done on any vehicle I own.Period.

Minivan Electrial Probems

We have a Chrysler 2005 Town and Country which has had a few problems. We have maintained the vehicle as required. The dealership recommended replacement of the entire ENGINE to solve the problem. For a second opinion, Village Parkway was better able to explain the cause of the lower rod knock, which did not require such extensive emergent repairs. When the vehicle began to having electrical problems, Village Parkway helped to identify a faulty alternator and replace it. As luck would have it, our battery died the day before we were moving from town. Village Parkway Automotive was great--they towed our vehicle from the battery shop and ran a diagnostic first thing in the morning, gave us an honest assessment, and replaced the alternator ALL under warranty just to ensure that was not the cause, getting us on the road for a 4-day road trip loaded down with goods by 1:00pm that same afternoon.

We found Village Parkway Automotive to be up-to-date, honest, and very thorough with their service. We also found that they will go out of their way to accomodate the customer's specific needs and requirements, and very responsive with updates and communications. We were referred to Village Parkway Automotive from friends, and I happily will refer anyone in the San Antonio area for their car servicing needs to Village Parkway.

Out of Towner

We were on vacataion in San Antonio, Texas and as luck would have it, we had car problems. I just want to thank Village Parkway Automotive for taking such good care of us (and our car). They are the nicest people and the place is so clean!!!! Our car repairs were done faster then we expected and we were back on the road in no time. Because of this shop we were able to still have a wonderful vacation and a cool ride home to Denver. Thanks so much and I am sending you a box with the cookies we talked about so be on the lookout for them..... Dean, Bev and Family

Hey Goodman Family, We got the package you sent and think I'll put an order in for the Holidays. It was our pleasure to service your car and are glad you had a good vacation here in SAT. Keep your invoice on the repairs and go to any NAPA Care Center if there are any problems. Take Care

I own a couple classic 35+ yr ...

I own a couple classic 35+ yr old cars that I am very picky to allow just anyone to work on. On my 1970 Camaro, my engine had been diagnosted to be replaced, I stop in the Village Parkway NAPA Automotive thinking it was a NAPA parts store to buy sparkplugs, met the owner and discussed what the car was doing and had told the owner what mechanics had previously told me , he said they would be happy to look at it and since they installed shocks I ask for them to install new fronts, excellent job.. I was impressed with the quality and the meticulous care they took of my vehicle. The best news I could hear was my engine was fine, we discussed the issues it was having in a very informative, very professional manner. He explained in details what was going on with my engine and we agreed on the repairs, since then, I have gone back several times for other repairs to my cars, I had them do a complete suspension restoration. The car rides and drives like it did in 1970. recently driving it to Georgia and back. To tell you the type of person he is, one of my cars had a starting problem at a local mall on a Sunday early evening, didn't know what to do so I called Mr. Velez on his cell, he returned my call a couple hours later, picked me up and we went to the car, he arranged for a flat bed tow truck to meet us and had the car towed to his business , put it in the shop finishing this up at midnight on a Sunday night, not many would ever do that for you. LOL , even family members would be hardpressed to do that for you. I have gotten to know the shop and Village Parkway Automotive folk in the last 2 months to know, I would NEVER consider any other automotive shop to work on my antique cars. Thank you Village Parkway NAPA Automotive.

We know how much time and money people put into their classic cars so we take care of them as if they were our own. We also pride ourselves on "going the extra mile for our customers". We are a family ran business so we treat everyone as if they are part of our family. Thank you for the kind review. Hope to see you soon, and bring us some of those Georgia peaches next time.
