Los Encinos Hill County Estate

We had our wedding at Los Encinos this fall, and it was truly beautiful! We married at sunset and then had an outdoor dinner reception. Every detail was attended to, and our freinds and family are still telling us what a great time they had. Alamo Photographic did our pictures and wow are we so glad we chose to marry outside. We had Monte Vista Strings play for us and Exquisite Events by Julia as the event planner. All of the food was amazing and we had two really great, fun Los Encinos bars, one inside and one outside. Bertha, the owner was so sweet to us, we really enjoyed everything!

I don't know why the other reviewer had such a mean review, Los Encinos won the best wedding venue in the contest for outdoor weddings for the Knot.com, so obviously they are doing things right!

This place was terrible. Where do I even begin? My brother had his wedding there, and it was understaffed and unprofessional. The owner watered the garden area right at rehearsal time, so the ground was wet and muddy for both the rehearsal AND the wedding day. All the bridesmaids' and bride's stilletos were sinking into the mud. The lady who owns it (Bertha) was clearing tables and asking guests to hand her their napkins during the wedding toasts!! She also "served" the wedding cake - even though it was more like "butchered" the wedding cake! Even guests commented later on how she tore into it and plopped a slice on each plate. She came up to the bridesmaids 10 minutes before the wedding ceremony was about to start and asked us to "clean up" the dressing area. Unbelievable!! She also talked terribly to several of the wedding guests. She also booked a wedding rehearsal 30 minutes before my brother's ceremony was about to begin. So there was a whole other wedding party there rehearsing while guests were starting to arrive! During the dinner, she went out to the garden area and started raking rose petals into the trash while guests were right there watching and eating dinner. Even though she expects you to pay top dollar for her crappy venue (which parts of it are falling apart and desperately need maintenance work) ... she refuses to hire extra help. The groomsmen had to serve the champagne for the toast! Her son in law is her photographer, and he is okay, but terrible at shooting photos of children. Please beware and DO NOT waste your time, money and precious wedding day on this awful place!

How beautiful the estate of Los Encinos is. We were at a wedding there and we were so in love with the place,I decided to start holding our annual Christmas parties for my office there. You have got to see it to believe it! I recommend it. The outdoor wedding ceremony was so charming!
