Joel A Byrd Photography

My fiancé and I decided to give Mr. Byrd and opportunity to shoot our wedding. I should also note that I had pictures done of the two of us two weeks prior to our engagement. I love pictures so I really wanted some of us to send out with our engagement announcements. The photographer and his wife were very abrupt and rigid with us. On a time crunch due to my fiancé's impending deployment, we went with them even though they had been short with us. They took our pictures in uncomfortable poses and were hesitant to listen to my ideas regarding the shoot. We paid a $75 sitting fee and received no digital prints. We bought prints and I called to follow up and ask if we would be able receive digital copies of the prints we had purchased. Mr.Byrd informed me that we would only receive digital prints of our engagement session if we booked him for our wedding and promptly hung up on me. The picture quality was not what we wanted for our wedding and we in no way ever informed them that we were disappointed. We politely remained quiet after buying overpriced prints and paying a $75 dollar sitting fee that I wouldn't even have to pay in studio or with any other independent photographer. Do not go with this photographer, the work is not worth the money.

There are so many reasons I'm happy we chose Joel as our wedding photographer. My request to him was to professionally document our wedding without going over the top. This is exactly what he did. I love our photos and the price was very reasonable. In addition, I enjoyed working with Joel and his wife, Charlene. They were very friendly and personable, and they made me laugh which put me at ease. They worked together beautifully -- a wonderful example of a great pair, in their work and in their life together. I highly recommend Joel A Byrd Photography.

I cannot comment on his work but on his manner. I called Mr. Byrd regarding photos for my clients. He simply hung up on me without saying anything. I did not appreciate his uncut manner, it was not becoming of a proffessional business man.

I am from Fort Worth. TX, and last fall I was in San Antonio with my girlfriend. We were celebrating our one year anniversiary of being together. I had plans to propose to her on the riverwalk after dinner. I wanted to capture the moment when I proposed, so I needed to hire a photographer to get it done. I went online and found Mr. Bryd. I called him, and he and his wife were very nice people. I corresponded with him via email to tell him which restaurant we would be at, and what time we would be leaving. He really helped me keep it under wraps from her. After dinner, we walked down The Riverwalk, and Mr.& Mrs. Byrd followed us from a distance. When I finnally got down on one knee, Joel caught the whole thing on film. She was STUNNED!! We then took several more photos in front of The Riverwalk, and upon my arrival home, he sent us the CD with all of the pictures on it. It was a strange task for a photographer to do, but he was very helpful, and did a great job. I suggest anyone looking for good and professional people to work with, to give Mr. Byrd a call. Thanks!
