Very kind and understanding staff. I felt at ease giving over care of my little guy and they handled him with love and care and immense knowledge. They diagnosed him quickly and my mind is now much more at ease. Thank you.

My vet suggested Mission Pet Emergency when my 10-year old chihuahua needed treatment after hours recently. I am so thankful that we were sent to Mission. From the time we walked in until we were ready to leave, everyone there treated us with care and compassion. Hopefully we won't have to visit a pet emergency any time soon but if we do, we will definitely go to Mission.

My dachshund suffered a back p...

My dachshund suffered a back problem called IVDD late on a Saturday night so I rushed her in to be examined. She was given an anti-inflammatory and an analgesic and my bill was about $140 which I felt was quite reasonable. The following Sunday night, she was in pain so I called to see if their was any other conservative measure that could be done before electing to put the dog down. The receptionist told me that in order to have my question answered, I would be required to bring her in again and pay for another office visit. Pure price gouging during an emotional time. If they know for a fact that there is nothing else other than surgery, they should be willing to tell me without having me fork over another $140. It is ridiculous for them to want me to bring i n my dog to tell me there is nothing they can do that refer me to a vet neurologist for $5,000 + surgery and allow my dog to continue suffering.

Came in around 6pm with ill cat. All staff friendly, got in quickly, was kept up to date with what was going on. Received all info to follow up at vet. Long (4hr) visit but worth it.

They advertise they offer 24 hour care of exotics, including birds. We took our critically ill bird there and the vet "did not feel comfortable" taking care of birds and refused to provide care. They need to change their advertising as this is false advertising. Our bird died en route to another vet office.

EXCEPTIONAL & COMPASSIONATE CA...

EXCEPTIONAL & COMPASSIONATE CARE - We want to express our sincere appreciation for this great facility. On a Saturday night in December we rushed our 13 yr old rescue dog to them. She was very ill and we didn't think she would survive the night. She stayed for a week and we were kept informed of her condition frequently. Less than 2 weeks later our 14 year old Sheltie was in distress. It was early Christmas morning but when we called they said to bring him in. We were met at the door and the doctor and staff determined he was in serious condition. He stayed for a week , we were updated frequently, and in both cases we were allowed to visit day or night as much as we wanted. Throughout this traumatic 4 week ordeal we were treated with genuine care and concern by the expert and compassionate staff. While we hope we don't have to return we are comforted to know I-10 Pet Emergency is there.

Great staff, great hospital!

I recently had an experience at I-10 Pet Emergency that I wanted to share. I had a 12 year old diabetic German Shepherd who inexplicably began having labored breathing. I went to my regular veterinarian at Hill Country Animal Hospital with Dr. Lori Stephens and she recommended that I go to I-10 for further diagnostics and hospitalization since it was a Saturday.

Long story short, my dog ended up having a tumor in her heart and had to be euthanized but I cannot say enough good things about the staff at I-10. The nurses who worked with me, Brian and Katie were so wonderful. They took great care of my dog and also great care of me and my husband. The compassion they showed for my dog really meant a lot. They did everything they could to make her comfortable until a diagnosis was reached and we could make a decision.

Not only were the nurses great, but the doctor, Dr. Heron was absolutely wonderful! I can't say enough about how great this emergency facility is and how great the staff is. No one hopes to have an emergency with their pet, but I know that if I ever do, I will definitely go back to this place. Thanks to the staff for all the great work they do!

Bad Experience

Recently I had a pet emergency and I want to share my story so others don't have this same bad experience. I had a dog who needed medical attention. This was the closest location to my house and it was a holiday so I brought my dog here. Unfortunatly, when tramatic events happen you become in the moment and feel like your willing to pay anything just to have your pet survive. Looking back now, I believe this vet clinic knows that as well.

They examined my pet and came back with an estimate of $2000 and explained that wouldn't guarantee he would even survive. I understand situations can't be guaranteed. However after my dog passed, I contacted my normal vet clinic and had them review the blood work from this clinic. Come to find out, there was no way my pet would have ever survived. This vet clinc had the same lab work and let me believe there was a chance. They also very willingly took my money knowing my dog would never even live. It's unfortunate that people play on others emotions and I would never suggest anyone take their animal to this type of establishment. I have since found other emergency vets in the area to take my pets to and asked my vet to never recommend this clinic to any of their patients if they want any honesty, even if it's bad news.
