Ascend Hotel Collection

My stay was for four nights. When arriving at the hotel the musty smell was the first thing I noticed. The hotel is over a numbers years old so I thought it might be normal for its age. The staff was very pleasant, but the desk is tucked way back in the lobby.

I was very disappointed with the rooms. I had a two bed room shared with a co-worker. The room was spacious, however, the sink located in the room. The windows were filthy on the outside. The bathroom is no bigger than a closet with no bath, just a shower stall that is so small it was difficult to wash myself. There was only one three drawers located in the tv cabinet which meant one of us had to "live out of our suitcase".

The architecture is charming, but it appears that many of the period touches have been removed over the years. The moldings in the rooms are very plain and dont represent the period the hotel was built.

I usually do not mind sacrificing comfort for architecture, however, I take exception this time because it was inconvenient.
