I ordered 160 chocolate and vanilla cupcakes from Baker Nook for our wedding on 8/15/15. They were AMAZING. We picked them up the morning of the wedding and they were packaged awesome for transporting. Everyone loved the cupcakes NINE hours later and I would absolutely order from them again in the future.

BEWARE! Baker's Nook absolutely RUINED my wedding cake! They may have a great store but DO NOT hire them for a decorated cake.



I tried out a number of cake bakeries in the area for my June 2013 wedding and ultimately decided to go with Baker's Nook because they had wonderful rental cake stands, were reasonably priced, and yes, their buttercream frosting is awesome. I also saw a picture of a very unique and sophisticated cake that I really loved in one of their design books. I was told it could be done in fondant, and was very excited. I put down my deposit and was happy to have one more thing checked off the list.



When I tried to confirm the design six weeks before the wedding, I began to run into issues. I sent them the picture that I picekd out of their book, and asked for a few color changes, I wanted black, teal and silver, the colors of my wedding. First they started talking about needing ribbon with wire in it that I had to provide. Ribbon? I was in shock. I was told it could all be done in fondant. When I asked them about this discrepancy, they told me that it could be done in fondant, at an additional cost. I crunched the wedding numbers and agreed to the extra money. Then they told me that I still needed to provide ribbon for the bottom of each teir because they couldn't do fondant there. Fine, I dropped by the shop with the ribbon and was hoping to talk to Anne, who I had been emailing with about the final design. She was on the phone with a supplier, and would be for hours and was not available to talk to me. I called a few times that week and was not able to reach Anne. Not only that, no one I spoke to offered to give her a message or have her call me back to talk.



After a few more emails back and forth, I thought we were finally on the same page.



The week of the wedding, I started getting more email from Anne asking about how much gray fondant I wanted on the cake. Gray? I wanted silver. Anne responded with a note informing me that they don't do silver fondant and that was why she thought we had decided on gray. This was the first I had heard about it! And it was way too late to change anything since the wedding was days away. I told her just to leave the gray off and use Teal and Black instead. This was when Anne sent me a note telling me how hard it was to pick out a cake over email. I was absolutely shocked by this response because I sent her a detailed picture out of her own book, I had stopped by the shop numerous times and called numerous times. She never bothered to call me back or suggest that we set up a time to talk or meet in person! The customer service I received was hurrendous. I just hoped that the cake turned out well.



I WAS ABSOLUTELY APPALLED WHEN I WALKED INTO MY RECEPTION! MY CAKE LOOKED LIKE A TODDLER HAD PUT LINES OF PLAY DOUGH ON THE CAKE. THE STRIPES WEREN'T EVEN STRAIGHT! EVERYONE WAS DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CAKE AT THE RECEPTION AFTER SEEING THE ORIGINAL PICTURE I HAD SENT THE BAKERY.



DO NOT USE BAKER'S NOOK FOR YOUR CAKE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT SOMETHING SOPHISTICATED OR DELICATE. THE CAKE I RECEIVED WAS SO BAD, I CAN'T EVEN INCLUDE IT IN MY PHOTO ALBUM OR COLLAGES.

This was clearly a case of miscommunication. We truly believed we were making the wedding cake that this bride had desired and we have apologized several times that we did not fulfill that in her eyes. We try very hard to make the perfect cake for each bride. It is hard to do via email. You can not always duplicate the exact colors and textures of ribbon when you change that to fondant. I tried to explain this and apologized to the bride if we were not clear. We never want a bride to be disappointed in their cake. We do make time for our brides by appointments only so we can give them the special attention. We do over 100 weddings a year and every one of them are special to us. We truly apologize again if you were disappointed in your cake we truly believed we were creating the cake you wanted. I am glad your guests were able to enjoy the great taste of our cake even though it was not your vision.

First, I want to say I've had ...

First, I want to say I've had many cakes made by Bakers Nook and I've not been disappointed. In fact everyone at the birthday parties raves about my cakes! I secretly buy them because it makes me look like an awesome mom :) My experiences there have always been great. I find the people very friendly, the service is good and the prices seem to be fair. I recommend Bakers Nook because I've had nothing but good experiences there. You should try them for yourself.

Not happy with a cake stand th...

Not happy with a cake stand that was welded together before I used it. Broke after the wedding (thank goodness) and not only did they keep my deposit but they hid the cake stand in the back room. For what I paid for this mistake I could have bought a new one. Will not shop here again.

Not Completely Satisfied

I used this service for my wedding cake in 2007. The taste of the cake and the frosting was not very good. They were not easy to work with, not flexible. It was their way or no way.
