Salina Boarding Kennels

I was overall pleased with the boarding of my 7 1/2 yr old shih tzu and was very grateful for the kindness of the staff to meet me after hours to pick him up, however, my little guy has kennel cough which he has never ever had before. I'm a little sad that this has happened so may have to look at other options in the future:(

I've been using Ewy Boarding Kennel (now Salina Boarding Kennel) for about 5 years now. The staff there is very friendly and from what I have observed is very caring towards the animals. However, the last few times I've been going there I've not been pleased. On a side note, I work about 8 miles out of town. I made arrangements two days ahead to drop my dog off over the lunch hour. They did say they were closed usually during this hour, BUT she told me that she had no problem staying to see his arrival. I told her I'd be there shortly after noon time, and she said that she'd be there. I call on Friday 30 minutes before I arrive to make sure someone will be there, and there is no answer. I figured that perhaps they stepped away from the desk. I show up and there is nobody there. I had to have the neighboring hospital call the owner on her cell phone. When she gets there, she nonchalantly says sorry and that she "must've forgotten" and then says she "hopes I'm not too late" in getting back to work. Well... I was! ALSO the time before this, my husband went to retrieve our dog and his bed, and she told him that I didn't bring a bed, when I HAD. Dog beds aren't cheap, and then to tell my husband that he was mistaken was just not very professional.

Just moving to the area Becky and friends where a great help til I found my forever home! Princess has been to other kennels and this has to be the best one she has been in and Becky was AMAZING!! thanks alot and I will send everyone I know your way!
