Leanna M. Hollander, DO, is a board-certified pediatrician. She treats infants, children and adolescents for both well and acute care needs at Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Pediatrics on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Dr. Hollander earned her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at East Tennessee State University. Following her residency, Dr. Hollander sought a traditional-style pediatrics practice, a position in which she would be able to not only see patients in the clinic but also in the hospital. Joining the Southeast Georgia Physician Associates-Pediatrics team meant she could care for patients in the Brunswick Campus Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center or the pediatrics unit, allowing for better continuity of care and providing Dr. Hollander with the style of practicing medicine that she desired. Supporting the family throughout their child-rearing journey and watching children grow and learn about the world around them is a blessing and a privilege that Dr. Hollander enjoys every day. Being raised in a small, secluded town in Southwestern Virginia where health care resources were difficult to come by, Dr. Hollander recognizes the value of each individual appointment. She always wants her patients and their caregivers to walk away feeling good about taking the time from their busy day to seek care. With every patient encounter, she asks herself, “If this child were my own, would I be happy with the care he/she just received?” and strives for that answer to always be “Yes.” She wants her patients and their families to feel heard and for their thoughts, feelings, and fears to be validated and addressed by the end of each visit. In her free time, Dr. Hollander enjoys walking along the beach with her husband and two dogs, riding bikes, kayaking and baking.
