On November 28, 2016 I was driving west on I-44 behind one of their trucks. Traffic was very heavy and there was a lot of construction. Suddenly the traffic came to a standstill. The truck was pointed uphill slightly. I was approximately five feet behind. The truck started rolling backwards and hit my car. There was no way I could get out of my car safely. Traffic started moving again in a matter of seconds. Luckily my wife was a passenger and wrote down the license plate number, cab number, and name of the company.
I contacted my insurance company and my agent suggested contacting the company before filing a claim.
I called and talked to a man named Roger. I gave him all the information and he said he would look into it and call me back by the next day.
A week later I had to call him back. He acknowledged that the truck in question was in that area by the GPS coordinates, but basically said I could be lying about what occurred.
Now granted the damage to my car was not extensive. I took it to a body shop and the estimate was less than $550. But that is not the issue. This company could have just done the right thing and offer some type if restitution but they chose not to do that.
I tell my story to make this point: if they are going to treat me in this manner, I wonder how they would treat a client.
