Teeth Cleaning
Pediatric Dentistry - Pediatric Dentistry is a growing specialty in the world of dentistry. While we successfully treat 95 percent of the children in our practice, some children require a different approach to dental cleaning and treatment.
Fluoride Treatment
Preventive Dentistry is the key to good oral health and includes consistent, daily brushing, flossing and oral rinse/mouth wash. At Koenigsknecht Dentistry we supplement your home care with dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, X-rays to screen for problems and oral exams to look for cancer and evaluate gum tissue, teeth and bone to determine if there are any issues like cavities. We also check for periodontal disease, bites that don’t line up, TMJ (temporomandibular joint) symptoms, teeth grinding and chronic bad breath.

Fillings
We use composite (tooth-colored) material for all fillings. While composite blends in much better with the rest of your teeth, sometimes the composite material is also a better choice due to factors such as tooth structure. Many insurance plans will not cover the fee for a composite filling on a back tooth, no matter the case for composite. Instead, they will cover the fee up to the amount charged for an amalgam (silver/metal) filling and the difference between the composite and amalgam filling (~$20-$60) is then billed to you. If you are having a filling done on a back tooth and prefer to have the amalgam or silver/metal filling, please let the doctor know your preference.
Veneers
Dr. Nick has completed coursework at Spear Education in Scottsdale, AZ. This training from some of the world’s best restorative and aesthetic dentists focused on cosmetic dentistry and creating veneers and tooth-colored crowns. Another advanced training included treating TMJ/TMD disorders using more specialized bite guards for migraine patients.
Crowns
A crown is used to cover a tooth with a large filling when there isn’t enough tooth left and the tooth needs additional support. It can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that’s already broken.

Fillings are also often used aesthetically to make the teeth look better. This is commonly referred to as cosmetic bonding.

Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Jonathan received extensive training in aesthetic dentistry, root canals, extractions, crowns, bridges, pediatric dentistry, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, and migraines while at the University of Michigan.

Dentures
Implants are used to replace a missing tooth without having to alter other teeth or attach it to other teeth. A titanium screw is placed into the patient’s jaw bone and a crown is placed. This gives the patient a permanent prosthetic tooth that functions just like a real tooth. Implants can also make loose dentures feel more stable.

Dr. Nate is from Fowler, MI and is looking forward to being closer to home and taking care of family, friends and the community he’s always known. He is a Michigan State University alum who majored in biosystems engineering. Dr. Nate completed his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2018 from The Ohio State University, though he remains partial to Spartan athletics. He enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in dentistry’s role in our overall health. Outside of the office, Dr. Nate enjoys time with family, friends and his dog Cash (short for Cassius Winston). He also likes pickle ball, skiing and golf.
