Amenities
In 2012 Whittier Street Health Center opened the doors to its new six-story, 78,900 square foot health facility located in the heart of Roxbury. The new building is equipped to provide high quality and accessible services designed to improve health and eliminate the disproportionately high rates of cancer, diabetes, heart disease, obesity, HIV/AIDS and violence that plague our community. As community need continues to increase, Whittier is now a vital link to health care for thousands of families in Boston for years to come.

Overall

We've used the urgent care clinic. They do answer the phone. The receptionist is very organized and patient. The place looks more or less clean and equipped. However, the core part which is the medical practice is bad. Hernan Delgado, MD one of the providers is inflexible, doesn't seem to have sound clinical judgement, and is not a good decision maker. If you as a parent keep on telling him that it's the time to start a certain therapy that you've tried over and over before with your kid, and he asks you to indefinitely wait and watch, then something wrong is going on here. A watchful waiting should not be "indefinite"; there should be some flag signs that would prompt you to take therapy to a different level. But to say: you are always welcome to bring him back just to send you out to come back once more with nothing added.. this is inappropriate care. If anything, I'd call it a poor physician's "yoyo" policy that he/she employs when he doesn't know how to take things to the next level. Therefore, he/she just keeps on procrastinating and the patient keeps on crashing! Physicians: be objective but "wise".
