I went to Eagle Transmission in Rowlett after the manager there said that they would give me a better deal than Honda would. After a month of them trying to fix the issue and thousands of dollars later I finally just had them quit working on my car because no progress was being made about the issue and I kept having to pay more money every time I went back. Left unsatisfied.

First of all, the "FREE DIAGNOSIS" will cost you $95 unless they do the repairs. Then, after their "diagnosis" they will surely tell you that the transmission needs overhaul. I was quoted $1,755. After I told them to fix it, I was told that there may be some "hard parts" needed but they wouldn't know until they had completely torn it down. I then find out after they disassembled that the bill would be $2,355. I asked what would happen if I said no at this point and was told that they couldn't put it back together without all the extra parts but they could throw the transmission in the back of the truck and I could tow it away after paying them half of their labor charges (several hundred dollars - not $95) for fixing nothing. I agreed to let them fix it and they did come through on time. When it was time to pay I gave them my American Express to pay. Mark told me they didn't accept Amex, however it was posted in 4 different places in their office and also on the front door. When I asked to see a manager, Mark told me he was the manager and it was not his fault that Amex charged such high fees.
I am at a loss of words at the poor management of this business and the "care less" attitude by which it is run. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. BEWARE as whatever amount you are quoted will surely go up after your vehicle is torn apart and supposedly cannot be put back together unless you pay the higher amount once you are held hostage.

Took my truck to this transmission shop back in May of this year I had a leak in my trans cooler lines got the truck back after paying over 500$ and the very next day the lines they replaced busted leaving me stranded on i30 I had it towed back up there they fixed the cooler lines again and I haven't had any more problems with the lines again so far. Here about a month ago I noticed I had a tranny leak around my pan gasket so I took my truck up there and they said I had a leak in my trans pan gasket and a leak in my main seal and they would have to drop the tranny to do a full external reseal so I said ok go ahead and do it 650$ later I go and pick my truck up... "a month before I brought my truck in to eagle I had brand new wheels and tires put on" before I even walked inside to pay I walked around the truck to inspect the outside and the wheels all was good until I got around to the passenger side front wheel there was a HUGE curb rash on my brand new set of wheels where they test drove my truck after the repair and ran it right up against the curb and immediately I walked inside and asked the manager to step outside and look at them and he said "I'm busy I can't I'll send another guy out to help you." This guy I believe his name was Justin took pictures and acted like he had no clue what happen or who test drove my truck took pictures of the wheel and said he was going to send them to the owner and they would contact me in a few days. I have yet to hear back from anyone and by the way my pan gasket seal that they repaired was leaking the day after they fixed it. So if you work hard for your nice things on your vehicle and like them undamaged don't take it here because they will surely mess them up and not take responsibility and they can't seem to get there repairs right the first go around.

They took the time to research my car's true problem (which was a transmission problem), but didn't require a major repair as I had been told. The selling dealer wanted to put in a rebuilt and one transmission shop I visited said the same thing. One other shop told me on the phone that "You probably need a new one". Frank checked the car, did a computer diagnosis and had me leave the car because they needed to research the problem. They called back a couple of hours later and had found a technical service alert from the manufacturer that solved my problem for less than $200.00. Needless to say I was thrilled!. They also advised me that my water pump was leaking, I'm going back next week to have that done. Good Guys!

I'll come back

I will go back there and I'll tell my friends too. I have a Mercedes SLK 350. It started jerking a lot when I backed up and then tried to go forward. I think that a Mercedes shouldnt do that, but the dealer said some of them do. This all started right after the dealer charged me a fortune for a major service. So I asked around and my neighbor said to just stop by Eagle Transmissions in Rowlett. They're on Rt 66 and I've seen the sign before, so I did. They drove the car around the block, came back smiling. He checked the fluid in the tranmission and added some. Bingo - smooth driving - for the price of a little fluid. The guys were so nice and honest - they could have probably sold me anything, but all they wanted to do was make my car work, and they did. You can trust these guys to be fair. I hope we never have to have a transmission rebuilt, but if I do, thats where I'm going.

Even Out-of-Towners Get Great Service

If you have a transmission problem, go to Eagle in Rowlett, Texas. Frank and his crew are world class. Story? OK: I was coming into Dallas on Interstate 30 in my RV, built on a Ford Super Duty F-550. This is a 4x4 vehicle made for serious off-road excursions. It has Ford’s “Low haul Torque Shift 5-speed transmission. Coming across the bridge on Lake Hubbard I noticed my transmission temperature was pegged. When I got off the bridge I stopped and did a quick Internet search for nearby transmission shops. It never occurred to me to take it to a dealer. I’d been ripped by them too many times. On the map I saw Eagle Transmissions on Highway 66 and decided to check them out. I’m from out of state, and this truck is a new rig to me, so I was pretty much at their mercy and feeling very vulnerable. Good places are usually busy, and this place was, but they made time to take a look. Turns out that the temperature sensor had a problem and they fixed it in minutes. I had feared all kinds of possible things that could go wrong on a complicated rig like this one, but these guys are honest, courteous, and obviously proud of doing quality work for fair prices. I told them that I’m heading deep into Mexico so they checked out a few other things just in case. All told, I was on my way in about an hour. Since I was just passing though, I cant become a repeat customer – so I guess they treat everyone this way. You cant beat that. Go there.

They fixed our Saturn after another shop quoted a lot more money. Had it ready the next day and the manager took the time to explain what was wrong and why. I felt like they appreciated my business and they were honest. The car works great and they also fixed a power steering leak that our regular mechanic had tried to fix twice but couldn't.

They fixed my Dodge pickup on the first attempt after the Dodge dealer said I needed a new one. They charged me considerably less than the dealer quoted. Good Job guys!

I had taken the vehicle in because of a roar and the transmission shifting problems. Well approx $2000.00 later the roar was still there and the transmission was still having trouble shifting. I later found out that a $60.00 part resolved the roaring. The transmission still shifts bad. I called the owner several times to try and resolve but he will not return my call. I had to give it a rating and lowest I could give was one star. There should be a way to give negative stars.

Very expensive and do horrible work. They fail to fix the problem correctly the first time. For the price they charged. I could have had the dealer replace the transmission. If I knew then what I know now.
