City North at Sunrise Ranch Apartments

My fiance and I have lived at City North for 2 years and just resigned our lease for another 18 months. The property is kept extremely nice. I live in the back area of the property and my sprinklers always work and my grass is green around my apartment building.

The pool is absolutely beautiful and we use it and the grills constantly in the summer. Not once have we been "policed" our removed from the pool. The pool rules are clearly stated, easy to follow and are no different from any other apartment complex. Children must have a parent with them (for obvious reasons). If you are a visitor to the property you must be with a resident, if not you are asked to leave and you are only allowed to have 2 guests at the pool. These rules make a lot of sense to me. If I am going to the pool I want to be able to use it and the chairs without it being crowded with people that don't live here. I am not 100% on this but I believe if you want to want to bring your entire family to bbq all you have to do is simply ask the management (who by the way are extremely friendly and personable).

As for the grills not working, as I said before we use them all the time (neither my fiance or myself have ever received second degree burns) , but they also have charcoal grills located on the property for those of you who are afraid of the gas ones!

On to the achohol issue, you are not allowed to have glass bottles and this is strictly enforced. If you are seen with other types of alcohol you are asked to remove it from the pool. The management is very diligent about keeping up with this and do not hide or run away from the issue! We also have an on site courtesy officer, that I observed just last night, monitoring the pool after hours. Drunk idiots do not run the pool, ever!

Dogs are not allowed in the pool due to health issues and I have NEVER seen any dogs swimming in the pool. Both adults and children use the pool furniture and when the kids stand on it and ruin it, in my opinion this is simply a result of bad parenting! This is why the children aren't allowed at the pool without their parents or a resident!!

The security gate works on a regular basis I observed it to be broken maybe 10 times in the past 2 years we have lived here! And I am not sure about anyone else but my apartment has never been broken into. And really lets be honest with each other if someone really wants to break into your apartment the security gate isn't going to stop them. I absolutely refuse to live in bad areas and I have not observed this to be a major crime area. Also along with the on-site courtesy officer I have noticed several other police vehicles parked around the property, which leads me to believe they live here as well. There is also a police station located right down the street! I feel very safe and secure on the property!

The management on the property is, as I stated before, extremely friendly and personable! I know several of them by name and they remember and recognize my fiance and I as well as everyone else living on the property. They know who lives here and who does not! They always ask me how work is going and how the wedding plans are coming and have recommended vendors that I might be able to use. Anytime I have had a problem or questions they have made time to talk to me. The maintenance guys are great and timely!

I have lived in many other apartment complexes and this is by far the best one and my absolute favorite. We hope to stay here for several more years until we purchase a house. I would recommend this property to anyone!!! If you don't move in here, its your loss!!

Don't even consider moving into these apartments. The only thing the management is interested in, is leasing apartments. Any problem or concerns the residents have are ignored and never taken seriously! For example the gas grills at the pool have been broken for over 5 months and when brought to management attention the resident was told they would be fixed next year and that is OVER 7 months away. So if the residents want to grill food they have to go to a park or risk getting second degree burns when using the broken apartment grills.You are not allowed to use your own grill anywhere on the apartment complex grounds. The pool rules state no alcohol or glass bottles in the pool area because of the family enviroment. But when the management observes people getting drunk, drinking alcohol in bottles at the pool area, with lots of kids swimming in the pool, they run away and dont deal with the situation. So the resident has to gather their kids up and leave the pool area and let the drunk idiots have the pool to themselves. This happens on a regular basis, which ends up in broken glass in the pool around the pool, and then the pool gets closed for all residents for days till they get their lazy asses up to clean things up. Everyday at the pool you can observe kids dragging the pool chairs into the pool and using them to stand on and jump off of. This leaves all the pool furniture broken, but if brought to management attention, they won't make the kids parents do anything to stop this from happening. When asked to replace this fruniture you get the usual response, "maybe next year". There are also no animals allowed at the pool either, but on several occasions there are dogs swimming in the pool and again the management will do nothing but tell the complaining resident that it is against the rules and then they hide in their office till the complaining resident leaves. On the new resident tour they point at the grills, they walk you around the pool and paint this picture of how nice things are just to lease an apartment and get your money, after that you are on your own, good luck! Another selling point is the security gates out front of the property. These gates are broken at least three days every week, and the exit gate is on purpose left open several hours every day. This leads to apartment break-ins on a regular basis, garage breakins and car loads of non residents flooding to the pool with cases of bottled beer to have their parties in front of the paying residents. The tour also takes you on areas of the complex where they use the sprinkler system, but not to the areas where they are not watering and just letting the grass die and turn to dirt! You are also told there is a resident Police Officer in the complex, but when you approach him with a problem he tells you the truth. That they don't give him a rent break and that he just happens to live in the complex, and then he tells you to call the Police yourself. A lot of good that does. When the Police do show up they inform you that the apartment complex is private property and there is nothing they can do to inforce the apartment management rules. The only thing the residents can count on is a $50 increase in rent every year and a drastic decrease in the complex's beauty and a drastic decrease in the features that bring the paying residents comfort and peace of mind for them and their kids! I would not even consider looking at this complex, much less consider moving here. There are way nicer Apt complexes in the area like Las Brisas Apts, and Tera Vista Apts. IF YOU READ THIS AND MOVE IN, YOU HAVE ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just want to let all of the prespective apartment hunters out there know that I lease a 1 bd 1 bath and I cant believe what I am paying to live here. the carpet wasnt cut right and there is a 3 inch chunk that is empty in the corner of the living room. the walls are super thin and I can here conversations of people all around me and their dogs barking all the time. out ice maker doesnt waork, though I have called 4 times and they each say it is fine, the garbage disposal doesnt work at times.... I am just very dissatisfied... fyi :/
