Growing Tree Nursery School

I went to the school and it looked really nice. All the kids I saw were happy and playing nicely. There were no children "lying in their tears", lol.



I observed for about 30 min and I thought the staff was pretty attentive, caring. There was a mix of both retiree age (grandma) and young 20-30's staff. No one looked like a worn out has been, not even sure what that means (age discrimination?)



The facility itself was really nice, better than I expected, actually I might even call it... beautiful (gasp!)



They have both an indoor and outdoor play space which seem more than adequate, the outdoor one looking over a nice pond, really quite pretty.



I saw three different classrooms and there was a staff/children ratio of about 1/5, which I thought was appropriate.



The security is very good with locked doors at all entrances/exits and an intercom/video system to get in.



I met Dawn. She was not pushy with the sale. Sure, it is her job to sell you on the place, but honesty I was sold on what I saw, not what she said. I found her friendly, not a greedy person.



I'd really like to know what the 1 star review is talking about, because in my search so far, the growing tree is an excellent day care environment. I could not find a flaw with the place.



The price is not cheap, especially for full day day care, but I guess it is reasonable considering the quality of the building and the number of staff they had on site (I counted at least twelve people working there on the day of my visit.)



Really well run place imho, love to know what got the other reviewer all worked up, and what other day care they'd recommend instead.

STAY AWAY....................If you love your child do not enroll them at Growing Tree in Roslyn. The teachers and aides are unqualified and incompetent. Do your research and you find many unhappy parents who have pulled their children from there. My nanny witnessed my son being verbally abused by the aides to the point where he was left lying in his own tears. The owner is only concerned with money and hires cheap, unqualified hasbins riding out retirement or desperate for work. Dont let Dawn the owner fool you. They are all smiles and hugs during the orientation to grab your wallet. I can go on for days about this pathetic house of horrors. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND ASK TO SPEAK TO THE PARENTS OF FORMER STUDENTS TO FIND THE REAL TRUTH.
