Dr. Min received her optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she graduated with high honors. In addition, she is a Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key academic honor society member. She continued with her post graduate education and residency at the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry which focused on pediatrics and binocular vision, with emphasis on the diagnosis, management, and vision therapy for developmental visual anomalies, including strabismus, amblyopia, as well as visual processing disorders that result in learning disabilities.

Macular Degeneration
Myopia, commonly called nearsightedness, is very common in children and is the most common human eye disorder in the world. The eyes of a child with myopia become longer over time, which causes distant objects to appear blurry. We are concerned about increasing rates of myopia because it causes an increased risk for myopic maculopathy (similar to macular degeneration), retinal detachment, cataracts, and glaucoma…any of which can cause impaired vision or blindness.

Common causes are astigmatism (abnormal shape of the eye), strabismus (abnormal alignment and tracking), and cataracts (cloudy lens of the eye).
Cataract Surgery
Dr. Guretzky’s areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of amblyopia, strabismus for children and adults, neonatal ophthalmology, screening and treatment of retinopathy of prematurity, blocked tear ducts, chalazia treatment and excision, and pediatric cataract surgery.
Eye Exam
The eye exam involves dilating the baby’s eyes with drops. These are specially formulated for premature babies’ eyes. It takes one hour for the drops to work. Special tools are then used to open the baby’s eyes to examine very carefully. The baby might cry, however the eyedrops and tools are necessary and safe. Some parents choose to step out of the room during the exam as it can be hard for them to watch. The exam will need to be repeated every 1-2 weeks until 40-50 weeks gestation (the baby’s original due date or 1-2 months later).

Internal Medicine
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, Dr. Rosin remained for two more years to earn a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed two years of residency in internal medicine at Wayne State before his residency in ophthalmology at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Rosin completed his training as the Gershowitz Fellow in Pediatric Ophthalmology at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York City. He worked for seventeen years in a multi-specialty adult ophthalmology group in New Jersey, as the specialist caring for child and adult eye muscle abnormalities, as well as child eye diseases, before joining Kids Eye Care of Maryland. Lastly, Dr. Rosin designed the surgical instrument that he uses when performing eye muscle surgery.
