Myself & my two sisters paid $30 a piece to Bella Peregrina ranch for a horseback riding lesson on Saturday Nov. 22, 2015. Listed on their website is a total of 16 parks which they say they have lessons on Sat & Sun. We went to Old Settlers park in Round Rock for the lesson. Once we entered the park off of Palm Valley 79 we found the office address 3300 which Skye the owner gave us located on the right. We didn't see anybody and was unsure how far to drive in the park to find them. Finally we saw a long trailer pull up on the left hand side of the park, we drove over and got out to meet the trainers a man and woman (who was not Skye the lady owner). He unloaded a total of six horses, four were hooked against the trailer and two to a set of benches. About 15 mins in a guy in a white SUV pulled up got out in a tee shirt & shorts and walked over towards us, the male trainer went to meet him. The guy started yelling "y'all cannot be here", "I am calling the cops, RR PD are on the way", "we will be responsible if someone gets hurt." "I am the president of Round Rock express, I know you're not suppose to be here". Who's going to pick up this sh$& off the ground (from one of the horses). The male trainer started telling him they have a permit to be there but the guy wasn't having it. Finally the trainers started to load the horses up and said we could drive 15 min down the road to San Gabriel park. We got in the car and discussed rescheduling given this wasn't the plan. We got out and told him we would reschedule and left. Once home my sister called Skye to see if we could get a refund since this happened. Skye began raising her voice at my sister and told her they are a small ranch and could not absorb any losses, and we could reschedule any day. Also there was no apology for what had happened. I also have some concern about how the horses look. They had marks on them and one in particular looked under feed, his back looked a little sunken in as well. We are not going back. Monday morning Nov. 23, 2015 I called Old Settlers Park and was told that skye's ranch use to have a contract with them but it was expired, meaning she is not allowed to have classes in this park. Also the male trainer unloaded the horses on Round Rock Express grounds and not Old Settlers park ground. I also called San Gabriel's main park office and rec. center, no one knows of her or anything about horseback riding lessons being given or scheduled in their park. So lessons learned- If you cannot physically go to a ranch and have lessons on that persons ranch DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY. If they claim to use a park or certain location for training call that location and confirm it with the staff at that location first BEFORE GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY. You WILL NOT GET IT BACK.
