Huckabee Realty

Absolutely awful! Huckabee's properties are cheap, yes. Good for college students who may or may not trash the place. However, my roommates and I strived to keep the place tidy because we wanted our deposit back. Upon moving in, the place was dirty, carpet stained, kitchen floor sticky, light fixtures were loose and one even crashed close to my head onto the table. Handles off of cabinets were gone, screens busted out, doorknobs did not turn in the rooms, tiles came off of the floor, and we even steam-cleaned the carpet TWICE ourselves because it was nasty, but the rent was cheap. All of these damages were reported but Huckabee "lost" the list TWICE!! Very strange. After 2 years of living in Huckabee's rental duplex, he not ONCE fixed anything. Our neighbor (who also rented from Huckabee) a/c broke and she waited for more than a week in the hot summer to have it fixed. We recently moved to a gorgeous apartment complex (where maintenence is 24/hr) and Huckabee is taking $140 out of our $700 deposit to "clean the kitchen floor" which was filthy when we moved in. It was cleaned before we left and if anything, we made the place look nicer by replacing doorknobs and fixtures ourselves. Huckabee only wants the money and doesn't care if you are a college student trashing the palce or keeping it clean. It is not worth the trouble and you get MUCH less than you pay for. I recommend apartment complexes if you are a responsible adult who respects the property of others and prefers honest communication between yourself and the property owner. I will never rent from him again nor recommend him to anyone.
