I buy new truck every two years. I have used a shop n dearborn adn in southgate in the past, both closed up. I went to mid west truck accessories for my cap on my new truck, I was ver happy. Clean stor, good price adn tehy paid attention to details. Much better than the other places I have been to.
I sent my wife down to Mid-West to have a class II hitch on her Rav-4. The manager, Denis , was very discourteous to her and treated her like she was some "dumb blond." She asked him how long it would take to install the hitch and he said I don't know we have never worked on a Toyota, like there was something wrong with owning a foreign car. I her told to tell them that the ball needed to be 16" off the ground. When I got home from work and measured the ball height is was more like 19" off the ground. I called Mid-West and Denis answered the phone and I asked if I could get shorter ball mount, the first thing out of his mouth was "No Sir!" After explaining that the height was 19 and not 16 he reluctantly said ok we can order you another one. This guy really pissed me off. I'm going to get a lower mount somewhere else so I don't have to deal with this guy again.
Have purchased several truck caps at Mid-West Truck Accessories over the last 15 years. Very happy with prices, service and selection. Good group of people who seem to really care about the customer. Very reputable business.
They advertise a lowest price guarantee, but when I called them on it the staff was very reluctant and borderline hostile about lowering their price. Their installation was shoddy; when I asked them to fix their work they became extremely hostile again! They refused to fix it! I had to get it fixed at the Mid-West Truck Accessories store in Redford, MI. They were extremely helpful and immediately fixed the installation problems. They weren't surprised to find out the shoddy installation was done by the Mid-West Truck Accessories Riverview store.
The product was an A.R.E. truck cap Z series. You can buy this product and have it installed for $200 cheaper at Quality Caps in St. Clair Shores.
