Dental radiographs (X-rays) are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Dentists and dental hygienists use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Without X-rays, problem areas may go undetected.
X-rays
Dental X-rays produce a low level of radiation and are considered safe. Dentists take necessary precautions to limit the patient’s exposure to radiation when taking dental X-rays. These precautions include using lead apron shields to protect the body and using modern, fast film that cuts down the exposure time of each X-ray.
Exams: After your teeth cleaning, Dr. Wilson will pop in to check all your teeth. He makes sure to check all your x-rays, tooth decay and existing restorations. It is important for the doctor to check and make sure no new problems that may have popped up and that those problems already existing can be fixed by a later appointed time.

Dental Sealants
Sealants: Are a great way to protect your teeth against tooth decay on your molars. Sealants create a barrier between your tooth and any food particles, plaque or bacteria. We highly recommend sealants to any child whom are just getting in their molars to ensure they are protected early. They also are very effective on full grown adult teeth.
Space Maintainers
Intervention – In some cases, pediatric dentists may discuss the possibility of early oral treatments with parents. In the case of oral injury, malocclusion (bad bite), or bruxism (grinding), space maintainers may be fitted, a nighttime mouth guard may be recommended, or reconstructive surgery may be scheduled.
There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You and your dentist can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings, along with silver amalgam fillings, are the most widely used today. Because composite fillings are tooth colored, they can be closely matched to the color of existing teeth, and are more aesthetically suited for use in front teeth or more visible areas of the mouth.
Veneers
Veneers: Are an excellent way to redesign and reshape your entire mouth. Veneers are a very thin ceramic shell that covers your existing tooth/teeth. In placing these new veneers on your teeth, you are able to change the look of your smile. Veneers can cover issues like staining, spaces, or cracked, misaligned, and chipped teeth.
Crowns
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface, restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
Bridges
Dental bridges are a great way to replace missing teeth. The process of creating a bridge begins by creating abutments (anchors) out of your existing teeth where the bridge will be attached.
With proper care, most teeth that have had endodontic (root canal) treatment can last as long as other natural teeth. Root canals performed by endodontists (root canal specialists) have a 95% success rate. In some cases, however, a tooth that has received endodontic treatment fails to heal. Occasionally, the tooth becomes painful or diseased months or even years after successful treatment.
A denture is a removable dental appliance and a replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They are made to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile.
Dr Wilson is a gentle dentist who offers advanced cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry offered for all ages. Some of the services he provides are dental crowns, dental implants, dentures, root canals, bridges and knowledge in TMD.
Teeth whitening (or bleaching) is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the color of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile.

General Dentistry
Pediatric dentistry (formerly Pedodontics/Paedodontics) primarily focuses on children from birth through adolescence. The American Dental Association (ADA), recognizes pediatric dentistry as a specialty, and therefore requires dentists to undertake two or three years of additional training after completing a general dentistry degree. At the end of this training, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry issues a unique diploma (Diplomate ABPD). Some pediatric dentists (pedodontists) opt to specialize in oral care for children with special needs, specifically children with autism, varying levels of mental retardation, or cerebral palsy.
